Superbooth 2019: ACL Sinfonion - All Your Oscillators Can Now Play Nicely Together!

Consistantly for the last three years we have managed to grab the guys from ACL on the last day. They have always had a great patch going to demonstrate their new modules and this year was no exception. Mathias was on hand to show off the latest addition to the ACL line, the Sinfonion.

@@chasebliss5045 yes. I was just pointing out that personally, I prefer synths to modular. I have owned both over the decade's but tend to find the modern modular too time consuming, when time is at a premium and needs to be spent writing rather than patching/programing. This new module seems to create a very musical and inspiring vibe which has rekindled my interest.

Spectacular functionality while still remaining playable without lots of fiddly menu diving. A high price but not bad considering I'll be selling all my other pitch sequencers.

I just have to say, I got a couple of Neutrons to add to my MPCX/Force commanding 4 DeepMind 12Ds, 3 TB-03's, a TR-09, Presonus 16.4.2/CS18AI/Studio One 4 setup and the Neurtrons wet my whistle for a rig all Eurorack formfactor. After finding the Sinfonion on Modulargrid.com, I researched it and took a chance and sold just about everything to make a Modular case with the Sinfonion as the bar for the level of mods I wanted to get and Wow, I am absolutely in a Dream now with the potential this has unleashed for me as someone who has really struggled for decades just learning complex music theory for great technical melodic electronic music. This man is my hero! I cant thank him enough.

superb module, superb system! love the aesthetics too, tidy, intuitive and not at all garish. - i try to keep my systems 100% pure analog, practical synthesis, but this would add a whole new dimension to any system, - big enough to warrant having its own housing also...

"You can do just the root note" turns all the cool harmonizing Oscillators off & it sounds like every other modular....Slowly turns them back on & again sounds like no modular I've heard.

very impressive, though it's about the same price as the Five12 Vector + expansion, which sequences more parameters, more voices, can also do chords ,and has much more complex sequencing ,modulation, and probabilistic, and groove behavior. But I get it, ACL comes from a pure sound quality but sort of boring Berlin school-rhythms type mentality, so it's crafted with that in mind. But this fairly straightforward chord+simple arpeggio+drum thing he's doing here with the modules currently being used probably costs around $10K, not really the best value in my book, though they do make great oscillators.

Ahhhhh indeed they did. He initial prototype was just instruo though I believe. Super booth two years ago? I’m glad it got into production. It’s gorgeous.

That's right yeah. It looked exactly the same layout but with the Instruo graphics. I seem to get the impression it was Matteus' idea and he approached Jason to help bring it to life. Looks amazing, but very expensive. As others have said though, to achieve this level of control you would probably have to pay more than that anyway for individual modules and you still wouldn't be all the way there! I'll start saving 😯

It could definately replace a ton of stuff. The instruo stuff is beautiful but for something this complex I almost like how clean this is. My hermod can do all of this though. In 26 hp. The “nerd in the dark listening to raw oscillator waves for hours” in me wants this real bad though. All kinds of great accidents to let happen.
