Superbooth 2023: Lambda Synthetics - PolyPulse - Live Performance Workstation With 5 X/Y Pads

We spoke to Ward from Lambda Synthetics about their new product, PolyPulse, which is a live performance workstation. It follows unconventional and algorithmic routes that offers five tracks, each with a polyrhythmic sequencer on one side digital synthesis on the other. Currently, the digital synth has FM and additive synthesis, and several forms of sampling, but more will be added in the future. The sequencer is based on polyrhythms, mixing time intervals which combine to create complex rhythms and melodies, while the touchpads on each track provide expression while on stage.
PolyPulse is currently in the production prototype stage, and there is still a lot of software to be done. It is expected to be released in Q3 or Q4 of this year. External integration can be achieved using clock signals for modular gear, and there are eight balanced outputs on the back. Poly Pulse has a sampling engine that can create new melodies using pitch-tracked bass samples, a drum synthesizer, and various synthesis engines that can have up to 20 tracks of polyphony depending on synthesis engine.

Thank you sonicstate for covering basically every booth available. I used to live in Berlin and always loved going to Superbooth and to the FEZ in general (as a kid). This year that wasn't possible.. Soo you, covering most of it, really feels like sort of being there. Only thing I'm missing is the long cues when trying to get food.

Pretty striking looks, though a bit home grown. I'm a sucker for the computer keyboard style keys. I wonder how hard it is to setup the synths, sounds, sampler, but it looks like loads of fun when setup in a live scenario. It would be interesting to see a stress test of the number of voices/tracks.

Very nice tactile approach. Polyrythms are cool but please don't forget about swing which is left out by almost everybody. Dynamic swing that u can modulate and sequence. Outside of patching it in modular I know of only gotharman equipment which does this and its a gamechanger. Also Instantaneous pattern switching like on the Opz and volca devices which is super fun for improv and variation. If these r implemented i wont be able to resist.
