Perhaps the answer is in your own video. We haven't seen Yoda's lightsaber. Who's to say that Luke didn't find it later and Kylo Ren just took it? Due to the difference in their hand size, it would make sense if the cross bars were added when the hilt was modified to fit Kylo's hand. Just a thought.

Georgi Dimitrov K'kruk too. The guy almost get killed by Grievous after this he went in a coma and stayed like that for a long time without getting found. After he woke from the coma he found himself at Separatist territory and had to get out by himself. He came back to the order somehow but shortly after that order 66 occurred and he went into hiding saving some padawans in the process. When Luke started the new Jedi Order he joined him and became a council member.

That is what the true users of the Force should aspire to be, neither Light, nor Dark, but something in between...something Grey.

I believe that Kylo Ren went to Endor to find Vader's old lightsaber, and then bend it to his will. His blade is all scraggly with the weird energy around it because the crystal was cracked when it fell to Endor's moon.

Conrad Osborn actually as you can see in the game star wars the force unleashed one lightsaber selection is an unstable lightsaber crystal (has the same firey appearance as ren's saber and is not damaged) this is possibly the same kind of crystal except corrupted which means that you can narrow your search to Jedi that have an unstable lightsaber crystals (look for Jedi with the same lightsaber appearance as ren's. I can't recall any from memory so look everywhere.

I just went to see Spider-Man today. It was amazing. There was something interesting that I noticed though. During the scene on the ferry, Spidey uses his new gadgets to look at some of the security feeds. While searching through the feeds, he starts playing through one of them. In the top right corner of the feed gives information about the camera. The interesting thing is that the camera feed number is A113, a direct nod to the classic Pixar Easter egg. Since Disney owns Marvel, it makes sense that this Easter egg would be in one of their movies. Very interesting... Great movie, tho

I really, really, REALLY want to see you guys do a whole video on the "chosen one" prophecy/concept. It sounds like we're going to revisit that in TLJ. What do we know about the prophecy? What clues do we have? Yoda says the prophecy might have been misread - what are other possible ways to interpret it? Are we sure it refers to Anakin? Could it be Luke? Rey? Even Leia? Maybe even Kylo Ren??? What clues have we gotten in things like Clone Wars/Rebels that some of us aren't as familiar with? There are conflicting interpretations on what it means to bring balance to the force. Some fans seem to think it means there are equal amounts of light and dark in the galaxy, but at one point Mace Windu makes a comment that seems to equate destroying the sith with bringing balance to the force, so maybe the light itself is balance. Discuss!!

Considering that many Sith started out as Jedi that were then "corrupted" by the dark side, I like that in order to make their crystals they must use the dark side to corrupt a crystal that once belonged to a Jedi. As cool as this reveal really is from a story perspective, I sorta prefer the old way sith sabers were made red. They used synthetic red kybar crystals in the construction of their light sabers. I understand that disney retconned the Star Wars EU, but this was just such a simple and cool idea that had transpired. Darth Maul spent days in meditation forming his kybar crystal in a synth furnace using the force to get it to be the exact shape he wanted. The whole corruption/ bleeding of a kybar crystal is dark, sadistic, and cool but I feel as though it somewhat makes less sense than just making a synthetic crystal to your specifications which for the most part was just making it emit a stronger beam than a typical Jedi saber. Good video though, keep up the good work. I love getting notification of when you guys have a new video uploaded.

As I recall in the new canon, the crystal does not need to be in possession of a jedi to become corrupted. Sith often would take crystal clusters and torment them until they became corrupted, since the crystals are sentient. There are also red crystals that grow on the Sith homeworld.

I hate what Disney has done with lightsaber crystals. Before this recanonization, anyone who wanted to construct a lightsaber could go to any planet that had a crystal cave (not just Ilum, but planets like Dantooine had them too), and pick out a crystal of the color that they wanted. If they wanted a blue lightsaber, fine, find a blue crystal. Purple? No problem just find a purple crystal. Sith tended to make synthetic red crystals because of the rarity of naturally occurring red crystals, and also to reject the Jedi's methods. This way, you could choose your saber color for yourself, instead of this pants-on-head retarded method of "the Force choosing your color", and all this "bleeding the crystal" malarkey. It's complete bullshit.

I hate Disney canon not only for bullshit explanations (like kyber crystals) or coming up with some new bullshit (like guardians of whills) which has made other things illogical, or creating plot holes, but also for showing middle finger to all those authors who had been building and expanding the SW universe for MORE THAN 30 YEARS. Exactly! There has been DECADES of effort put into the greater Star Wars lore, and Disney, with a stroke of a pen, declared it non-canon. Books like Stackpole's "I, Jedi" (my favorite Star Wars novel) which provided rich backstory on what happened in the many years following Return of the Jedi and told a wonderful narrative are now relegated to little more than fan fiction. To be fair, Disney IS slowly making their way through Legends and bringing some of our old favorites into the new canon, but it will never be enough. Name-dropping Revan will never be enough to justify removing his full adventures to find and destroy the Star Forge.

Yes, bringing back characters from the old canon (Thrawn) is a good sign, maybe we'll see some more (Mara Jade is my dream). Also I wish they'll make a movie which won't be connected with the trio Luke-Han-Leia or Rebellion vs. Empire war because these stories are so exploited. IMO it's time for new stories, new characters, something fresh. I remember when I played KOTOR for the first time and there was this plot twist when Malak said that WE are Revan - for me it was even more mindfucking because I played female character (I'm a girl) and I was shocked that Revan was a WOMAN.

I'm a huge KotOR fan as well, I personally believe that the two Knights of the Old Republic games (not the online ones, the original ones for the original Xbox) are the best Star Wars games ever made. That being said, I'd LOVE to see Kyle Katarn and his adventures be brought into canon. The man was a total badass, basically an unstoppable juggernaut, and didn't have any issues in pulling a blaster out alongside his lightsaber like some Jedi do. Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast was actually my first Star Wars game, and it's amazing, even by today's standards (plot wise, not graphics wise).

I really like the idea of a Sith taking a crystal that once belonged to a Jedi and having to use all of their hatred and malice to bend the crystal to their will, causing it to "bleed" turning it to a red color. How is that not bad ass? How is that not Sith? I feel like that actually makes a lot more sense than simply making fake crystals in a lab, that sounds so lame. Having to use their hatred to corrupt a crystal that once belonged to their sworn enemy symbolizes the Sith's complete devotion to the dark side of the force.

I don't know who Kilo Ren's lightsabre could of come from but I do know as a fact that it's fizzy because he cracked the chrystal when trying to corrupt it and that's also why he has the lightsabre mantle thing because it needs to breath to stop it from exploding.

Honestly I assumed that when Kylo Ren got his lightsaber, he took it from one of the many students he killed in that vision Rey had. Snoke even called him master of the knights of Ren which I assumed was the dead people in that shot. It would make sense to have a trophy of some sort of one's great victory or big moment of darkness. I'm adding this cause I thought it would a great twist: what if Kylo ren's saber was actually one of Rey's parents? (Insert mind blown) Anyways it could be Luke's green one or not. I won't be surprised if they did that. Just wanted to lay it out there. Good video Ben as always :)

Don't we already know that Ren's lightsaber crystal was Vaders? I think he's supposed to have found it near Vader's mask on Endor - but like the mask, it was somewhat broken, which is why he needs two exhaust ports to funnel away the excess power it gives off and stabilise it. Damn, if kyber crystals are sentient, that one is having a really bad time.

SuperCarlinBrothers It is a possibility that Kyle Ren was training with Luke and before he turned to the dark side he only got so far into the build of his light saber, so he may have had to prove himself(Snoke, or even himself to show he is a true descendant of Vader) and the corruption process didn't go great. The struggle between light and dark damaged the crystal. So the extra blades on the saber are used to keep the crystal and saber stable. Therefore, Kyle Ren didn't corrupt another's saber but instead his own.

The one concept I think you may be missing, is that there were more Jedi than just the Jedi knights. The Jedi were an entire order of healers, peacemakers, farmers, and guardians. Only a few from the Jedi temple ever became Jedi knights, namely those who had a knight choose them as their padawan. The rest became healers and farmers, essentially using the Force to help grow crops in traditionally barren landscapes and heal those who's recovery by traditional medicine was slow. Now all younglings were trained in the use of lightsabers, but that's not to say that every Jedi that carried a lightsaber was a Jedi Knight. Now yes, of course Order 66 was meant to wipe out the Jedi knights, but it would have been quite a task to kill all the Jedi. It would have most likely become a bounty to hunt Jedi and bring back their lightsabers as proof shortly after Order 66, but before the events of A New Hope to the extent that by the time Rogue One happened, the Jedi were all but extinct, and whoever was left was being hunted for money.

The way he described the semi-sentient crystals makes me think of a question. Let's say I'm a Jedi Knight who was on a mission with my Old Master. Order 66 initiates and during the fight my Master gets killed. Using the force I bring his lightsaber to me and ignite it to use both mine and his. Would the fact that it was around me enough as a padawan influence the saber to work better?

Yes yoda's light saber is shorter, in the new cannon there is apparently a way to influence the length of the blade. Oh and kylo ren (Ben solo) courupted one of the padawan he killed's light saber (padawan merdering. That's oddly familiar)
