Great video, @AdamDeLay07. Installed GuiMods in 10mins, along with a couple of RuuviTags. All good. Just one question: Does updating future Cerbo GX firmware cause any issues with the GuiMod?

Thanks! Glad your install went smoothly! I haven’t had any issues with any non-beta updates. Kevin continually updates his Guimods package for any hidden “gotchas”. Now I do know that the gui 2.0 that Victron is working on right now is not compatible with Guimods. Thanks for the excellent video. Is there a way to visualize and toggle between both the original Victron page and the GuiMods page on the Victron display? In fact, when I enabled the Victron original page, the GuiMods visualization was no longer available. It seemed deinstalled.

Thanks! So to switch between GuiMods and the default Victron display, you can go to the following setting: Settings -> Display & Language -> Gui Mods -> Flow Overview

Hey mate just installed today going off your guide had no worries my version is Guimods v8.29 and Setup Helper v5.17 the only issue I'm having is i cant get my screen to look like yours, and it reads in Kw not Watts also my solar PV Chsrger isnt giving me much info like yours is... Stumped to know what needs changing

Min only reads in watts when it’s less than 1000w. Otherwise everything changes to kW. As far as the PV charger, I have 3 different MPPTs that are being read. Maybe that’s why it looks different?

Is there anyway to manipulate the servo to work with an eg4 18kpv and eg4 ll v2 rack batteries?

Not with the same level of detail you would receive with the Victron inverters. I thought I saw somewhere that the EG4 batteries could be connected to Victron equipment. You could hook up a Smart Shunt but that would only give you data from the DC side of things, not the AC side. I would probably look at Solar-Assistant for the 18kPV.

Is there way to get rid of the Grid box on the dashboard if you aren't connected to the grid at all? That takes up a lot of space if you are "off-grid" and that space could be used to expand one of the other boxes like the battery of PV ones.

I believe I have seen it where the Grid box isn't visible, but I don't think that it changes the allowable real-estate for the other boxes. Now that red box is helpful if you connect a generator, because it could show that information as well.

@@AdamDeLay07 I'm trying for no grid and no generator :) I'll install this when I get time to see if it can be fiddled with.. Surely there would be a way to modify something to make a tile larger. I would like the entire left side to be one tall PV tile (for listing lots of arrays) or one tall battery tile (for listing all the cell voltages of a specific battery or some other specific data point per battery)..

@@davidb.5544 Good luck! I do know there's a display option for DC Coupled Systems which does seem to rearrange things and shrink the Grid box, so I know that the developer can do it. Not sure how customizable it is from the user standpoint though.

Hello, the problem im having is downloading the actual file to the usb stick. when i click the link to do the blind install. it gives me a winrar compressed folder, when i extract it gives me 3 folders not the "exe" commend you show on your video? Any help pls

Can you tell me where in the video you're referring to? I don't remember an "exe" file being used. You shouldn't extract the files from the blind install. They need to remain in the ".tgz" format when you place the file on your thumb drive.

Thanks for the informative video. Once the SetUpHelper was installed I did not need to download the latest .tar.gz file to a USB to install it - I have internet connection on my Cerbo and after changing the settings to auto download GUI updates it pulled down the file after a few minutes.

Yes they are actually made in the EU and have models available for 220v systems.

I use a multiplus II 5kVA, it's 220V, cost 1400€ in Europe. Rs450/100 Mppt controller cost 1100€, prices give or take 100€ depending on rebate.

Hi. I can see you have 2 multiplus 2. Do you think ir's possibile to connect 2 separate batteries, one to each multiplus? Each multiplus could manage one battery. Is it feasible?

Yes I do. It is possible, the question you should ask though is "is it recommended?". I would say, probably not. If you have a larger load on one inverter vs the other, you will drain that battery bank quicker and then if that inverter shuts down due to a low voltage disconnect, your entire system will go down. Why not have one larger bank for both inverters?

@@AdamDeLay07 It's an idea to use different battery packs, that will work bad in parallel... (Different Ah , different ages, different brands). So if one of the batteries goes down, both multiplus will shutdown? And if i use 2 Cerbo Gx?

@@TheSpidertop If you have them configured in split-phase, yes when one inverter goes down the other one goes into a fault state. It's expecting to have constant communication between both inverters. A separate cerbo won't buy you anything. You can have different Ah, ages or brands in parallel. I've got 2 DIY 280Ah packs and an Orient Power 230Ah pack connected together. The biggest thing is you have to configure based on voltage because you might not have battery communication between all the different types of batteries.

Each one is designed for something different. The Cerbo is designed for Victron equipment. Solar Assistant is really designed to fill a gap where a lot of other inverter manufacturers lack in their monitoring software. Each has similar features. You can view live and historical data from both, and depending on the connected hardware, you can manipulate settings of hardware on both. Currently the only Victron device that Solar Assistant supports is the Smart Shunt. Basically, if you have a Victron inverter, I would recommend the Cerbo. If you have any other inverter that’s supported by Solar Assistant, I would get Solar assistant, regardless of the manufacturer’s software. I do plan on doing a review of the VRM and Solar Assistant at some point.

I'm guessing you're asking about a Cerbo GX without a Multiplus? If so, only Victron equipment works with the Cerbo.

Just not wanting to ad a multiplus at this time. can i still add a cerbo gx and and display and still get battery info from the dc to dc charger. Yes you can use a cerbo without the multiplus. It will read data from the smart shunt as well as the solar charge controller. I'm not sure however if it will be able to get any data from the DC to DC converter. My initial thought is that it cannot. You would still be able to see the data from the shunt though.

I was just wondering if the words (bulk, abs and float) light up for you? I have a couple Victon MPPT's connected to the system, I'm wondering if the system is confused and not picking up the signal from the MPPT's properly? Maybe you my have heard something? No worries! I gotta start looking at your install from the beginning! I can tell you’re a sparky. Install looks great! So the bulk, abs and float on the inverters will only illuminate when you charge from AC In. The SCCs don’t pass their state to the inverters. Keep up the great work!

@@OrganicPower-Australia do you know if you were charging from the mains? Your system will have to have the “mains on” light lit, signifying it’s using mains power and then your system will need to be charging from your mains (ac in) power.
