I had an 83 also , Imo this generation of the pickups was definitely the best looking overall, although the 85 gets a lot of attention with its😮 extra cab , power windows, more options ,last yr of the solid axle ,I still prefer this body style, On my 83 I didn't like that I couldn't recline my almost new recaro bucket seats I had to where I was comfortable, so after my cousin egged me on about doing it , I cut the rear wall off my cab and added 6" off of another cab I had, it worked perfectly, people would look at it and say hmm there is something diffrent about it , lol , only if you knew what to look for you'd see that behind the doors I had double vents instead of one, I installed a new set of 6" lift leaf springs that i pulled one leaf out of for a softer ride , 3" body lift, 36" tires, 22r with the rv cam, and 5.13 gears, man I miss that truck, Been looking for another one for years, I've looked at a few but being in New England every one I looked at was rotted to the door handles, I'll have to go out west one of these days and find a clean rust free project,
