One of the cleanest intercooler/piping setup I’ve seen.. Only thing that sux on these is the intake setup. Air filter is always sitting on top of the header

Me, staying old skool with TS full kit for my 502 (single charger, sanden A/C, PS pump, & alternator set) FiTech 1500 pwr. adder kit for my '70 with 3.70 12 bolt, Art Carr 220-4r lockup 11". Cam I have is crane roller 288/296, 587/610 exh. 112 LSA. Patriot coated 1 7/8 shortys H pipe 3" Magnaflows w. cutouts.

I have a 5.3 with prc 220 heads and the torque storm super charger 1 7/8 headers 102mm throttle body th400 and 411 gears in 68 gto and i was wanting a nasty sounding cam. Could i run the NA tps tsunami cam with that or would that be to big for the blowe? I would like a nice sounding cam but still make the power .What would you recommend

You could if you wanted to. They tend to lose some boost with the aggressive n/a cams due to overlap. Btr red hot would be a better paired cam. Similarly sized. Just more suited for a centrifugal.

Still daily driving my 2.2 s10 slowly acquiring parts for my 5.3 swap, just got a 228/236 .598/.601 cam for it and some PAC springs, just did some repairs to my 243s just waiting to send those out to get decked .030" then start assembling my motor. Im a ways away from getting it swapped but Im still plugging away just trying to find a winter beater so I can tear the 4 banger out of it! Keep up the good work guys!

No sir. They do eat a lot of heat that way. But the intercooler cools the charge back down. But definitely do not overheat. Radiator and fans take care of the cooling.

You're gonna want the intercooler. The procharger gets pretty hot so having a way to cool the air is absolutely necessary unless it's a carburated engine, which even then it's still preferred. I put a TorqStorm on my Avy and I might step up to a bigger intercooler if I wanna break past 600WHP

We make brackets and find a suitable spot with air flow. Yes. We almost always use an aftermarket cooler. Especially so if it has any kind of stall converter.

Why were you manually shifting it? If it's not making the shifts when commanded, you need to polish up the trans tuning. The blue cat trans tuning tool works wonders. My truck with a 4l80 nails the shifts every time and still has torque management at 800+ wheel. Great video none the less.

That was a clip before we put the trans in. So it was still the stock trans and it wouldn’t make the shifts. Check out some other videos. I tune about 600 of these trucks a year. Lol

Stock fuel pump enough for one of these torquestorm chargers? I have 50lb gm flex injectors. Stock beside cam and longtubes. 5.3 pump gas on my truck

Commonly they are only good for 400rwhp. I would install a pump. For instance even just a Walbro 255lph should get you there. Or any of the 340’s. They are only $90-100

@@NorthernPerformanceCars my issue is when you put bigger pumps in these trucks (99-06) you're get rid of the factory venturi system, that fills up the bucket. So people cut/drill holes in the bucket. I dont like that..because what if i get stuck under a 1/4 tank or something then i have to worry..do you have any insight on this?

This is the setup that I was looking to do on my 5.3 s10 with a th400 with a brake. 243 heads, 5.3, th400, e85 but i am looking to run 9's. Not sure if the torqstorm will be able to make that type of power to get me there.

Weight dependent it dosent take a ton of power to go 9’s. For instance our white fox body runs 9.49@140 with 530rwhp and weighs 2900lbs. Obviously a blanket statement. But shouldn’t be difficult

I see you are using the stock MAF sensor set up for blow through, I am putting together a ls 6.0 boost ready engine for a 04 Silverado 2wd rcsb and I want to use my MAF or aftermarket performance maf using a Huron turbo kit with a 78/75 turbo. any chance you guys can help me with a base tune. @@GhostCider the gearing for 30-500whp combos suck. 2.48 first vs 3.06 really slows them down. 35-40lbs heavier. Os swap. Crossmember. Yoke/driveshaft. Just all negatives. From experience of 100’s and 100’s. I wouldn’t put one in my own vehicle unless it was an 850-1,200hp combo. My red truck makes 770-780 rwhp on my 60e from rpm. 4 seasons on it, running 10’s in the 1/4 n/a, roll racing spraying a 200 shot. All with a 600rwhp 12.7:1 408ci.

You seem very knowledgeable about this. I have a 2004 Chevy 2500hd with 6.0 it has a torque cam and headers. I daily it as a work truck. Would a torque storm still be safe for working the truck plowing and towing?

Absolutely. It’s a nice little Belt driven centrifugal. It makes boost by rpm. So it won’t work or labor until it’s higher in the rpm band.

I’m not for sure but If you buy all the parts and do it yourself probably around 10k. Add a couple grand to that for a professional shop to install. I have an 07 1500 full exhaust 5.3 and heads/cam with a 3k stall and tuned. I paid a shop 4K for everything. So if you add up the blower and everything else to a build like that it’ll probably be around 10-15k? And that 4l60e has to be built to hold the power so that’ll be another bill.

@@NorthernPerformanceCars Alright sounds pretty close to what I was thinking about to 15k mine isn’t all the way there yet but was looking at that torque storm seems like a good unit I have about 9k in mine so far with heads,cam Dod delete, long tubes full true dual exhaust, tranny upgrade with FTI 2800 stall, Eaton truetrac rear diff with new bearings driveshaft and yoke upgrades from strange. Ready to go forced now with fueling upgrades to come. Needing brake upgrades and cal tracks to finish it up. Reverse leveled didn’t want it to low it’s a daily for me.

We did not in this. Chances are if you have a few miles on there. They’ll be pre gapped. A smidge. Usually 6-700hp with a competent tuner isn’t necessary to gap either way

Haha yea. That was with the stock trans. It wouldn’t make a shift on our first test drive. So had to wait a couple months for the rpm. Now it’s a beast.

It only made 360 n/a. Exhaust. Cam. 243’s. Stock truck intake and 78mm throttle. If I’m not wrong. That was the highest gen 3 intake/throttle Dyno numbers on my Dyno in two years. So in 7 psi it picked up 174rwhp. Which is a 50% gain. That’s good lol
