YEA... I watched his videos dozen of times before I bought an A&A kit

Same I plan on picking up a z06 and having it for a year before supercharging it. I've heard the ls1 connecting rods are timebombs under boost, are the ls6 rods any better?
@Toys4Life4 жыл бұрын
@@00101Anonymous101 I have not heard that. Early - 97-00 rods are weaker than 01-04 so I wouldn't spin the early ones past 6000 (OPINION). Personally, I believe if you keep at at around 600 crank HP it will last quite a while. The higher you go above that then you are more likely to have cast piston failures, rod failures, ring end gaps close up etc. There is always RISK when you SC a SBE LS1 or LS6. Let's see what others have to say as well.

Nice simple functional upgrade. I can dig it. Never knew those mafs were known for coming apart from boost spike.

Yeah, I don't know exactly how common it is but I'm pretty sure I know if it was going to happen how far away from home I might be... Thanks for commenting Mr Black947!

C6/LS3 MAF is a great option too, especially if you do your own tuning and won't have to pay a tuner to make the simple adjustment for it. A lot more headroom too, in terms of MAF freq/hz.

Sounds like a good mod!

that's totally cool I would probably add a little blue Loctite just to be on the safe side😎

My MAF is mounted way before the throttle body, so I dont have this issue.
@Toys4Life4 жыл бұрын
If it's between the throttle plate and the blower, I'm not sure how you can avoid a pressure spike of hitting the rev limiter.

Why did you go with the A&A kit over the ECS supercharger kit I hear both are similar and awesome kits. Awesome vids btw!
@Toys4Life3 жыл бұрын
I've heard the same. I went with A&A because I heard numerous reports that their customer service was second to nobody. When I called them they got back to me right away answered all of my questions on two different phone calls. And so I was convinced that they would be there after the sale. They were there when I had a few questions during installation and answered them all thoroughly. I'm 100% satisfied with their kit. customer service after the sale was incredibly important to me because I was going to be installing the kit myself, which I did. Plus they gave me a base safe tune to start with and then I tuned the rest. I don't have any direct experience with ECS, but I've heard very good things about them as well.

Hay I just got my a&a kit installed and the top cover shelled that mounts between frame rails is going to need trimed to fit or did I do something wrong
@Toys4Life Жыл бұрын
Or do you need to trim, the opening for the intake pipe to the throttle body? I seem to recall trimming mine a teeny bit. Anything more than a teeny bit and I would take a good look at the instalation.

Why doesn't the bolt go the other direction? Ah...i see...the unit was not made to have the screws able to go the other way :( Nah I would sand it for better tooth also for the sealant.
@Toys4Life4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they have to screw into the MAF and the holes that you have to tap.
