I’m in the market for one right now & your right. Not many left especially clean well taken care of models. I found a (sold ad) on Facebook of a 2003 black gts manual with only 53,000 miles & one owner. Asking price was $15,000 & I would have honestly offered the seller $13,500 or so if ir hadn’t been sold. Beautiful cars for being 25 years old

This is awesome guys! Subbed! I have a 2002 GT-S but it's an automatic.. will this supercharger work and also can you keep your AC? Looks like that baby takes up a lot of space.
@gastancehouse2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, we are glad you want to see more of the Celica! The supercharger kit will work with an automatic transmission, on a mechanical level. One thing to pay attention to is if it has a plug-&-play ecu, it may be designed for a manual-specific engine harness. In my case, I tuned an AEM FIC piggyback, which can work with either as long as it is wired correctly. And yes, this Blitz kit allows keeping the A/C compressor, which I currently have. You may or may not be able to tell in the video that the A/C lines are actually not connected to the compressor. Because of the big clutched pulley on the supercharger, the lines need to be lengthened to clear without rubbing, and I haven't done that yet. It's on my list of things to do, but until then, the car is still a blast to drive, during the summer just keep the windows open and stay moving! Haha. Thanks for watching and have fun with your GT-S!

Check out the video, I explained the story of how I found it. If you are set on buying a Blitz supercharger kit, I'd recommend patience, and a realistic knowledge of how much you could potentially spend to get one, since they are on the rare side. Forums and auction sites may give you the best chances. Thanks for watching this video!

@@chrisprice4658 thank you! I appreciate the kind words! Mine has been a slow and steady process as well. I gathered a lot of info from friedrice.blogspot.com, it's a great resource for learning the concepts of the AEM FIC. I do have it on my list though to make a video at some point that explains the process I have used to tune the Celica with it, as well as the wiring schematics I've built. Hopefully sometime in the not too distant future you'll see some content on it!

hey man ! were did you get your base tune? id like to start tuning my GT in need of a tune to work with , love the content !
@gastancehouse Жыл бұрын
Hello! I did not start with a base tune. A major benefit to the piggyback is that you can utilize the OEM ECU tune for areas when not in boost. In my case, the supercharger engages at a certain throttle position, so at idle and lower load areas my map is all zeroes so that I am using the stock tune where possible, and then I built my own tune for the areas where additional airflow is making its way into the engine from the supercharger. I did all my tuning on the street, no Dyno. I would log drives, and analyze the data later to make necessary adjustments to my maps. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

whats the reliability of a supercharged 2zz? 100k miles on 6psi with stock interals?
@DimoS...2 жыл бұрын
The 2zzge is very relibale if the torque is below 350nm and the tunning perfect, i have see I'm my eye's celica ts with 2867gt 370hp 370nm stock internals with 210.000 km's. Power like 270-300hp and 300nm is very safe for the 2zzge and c60 gearbox with longlife trouble-free. Maintenance must also be excellent with high zddp level oils

@hitmixhyepock94052 жыл бұрын
I just read that kit makes only 30+hp for 7k?!?!?!! Jesus lol. My cobalt ss got that gain from a pulley swap, bwahahaha. I went from 230hp with a 3in to 260 with a 2.7in and it only cost me 500 for the pulley/injectors/dualpass/front mount heat exchanger and tune.
@gastancehouse2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, unfortunately the Celica can be an expensive platform to modify relative to common platforms with more a larger aftermarket support. Aside from a few special additions (I think only available in Japan), all 7th gen Celica were NA. A Cobalt SS, for example, we're mass produced with superchargers, so aftermarket support is definitely vast in comparison. When the Blitz kits were new back in the early 2000s, the piggyback that the US kits got had a tune on it that apparently didn't do much. I have the unit, but haven't used it. It has no way to alter the O2 sensor signals for proper closed loop piggyback tuning, plus it's designed for use with the stock injectors/fuel pump, so it maxes them out very early, hence 30hp gain - it makes sense. The US Blitz piggyback just taps into the injector signals post-ECU, the cam/crank sensors, and the MAF. It was just designed as a base to allow the car to run temporarily until it would be tuned properly. I've read that the Japanese version of the Blitz kit had a proper programmed standalone that came with it. I am using 440cc injectors from a Lotus Elise, Walbro 255lph fuel pump, along with an AEM FIC which I've street tuned. It's not the best bang for buck for someone who is just looking strictly to make power.
