A look at the modifications on the 1988 Foxbody Stripper Coupe including a discussion of the power mods, body work, and electronics upgrades. This car has TFS High Port heads, a TFR-R intake manifold, Novi 1220 Supercharger, Flowmaster American Thunder Cat Back, Hooker Super Comp headers, a fiberglass trunk lid, heads up display, Tecmotion vent gauge pods and more.

It happens a lot. You can have either pcv or an open crankcase, but not both with a MAF.

@@tecmotiondyno So one or the other? My brothres NA 393w didnt have anything, he drilled a hole in the intake with a baffle for the pcv off of the passenger side valve cover. And is going to use a open breather on the driver side. Is that correct? It is a MAF car

@@spoolinsvt6489 If it is a MAF car you can't have PCV AND an open breather because the PCV system will suck air through the open breather, through the crankcase, and into the intake without metering it. You have to choose one or the other. You CAN use a sealed PCV catch can which is plumbed to the valve covers as well as the traditional valley PCV point if you want.

@@tecmotiondyno Hey thanks for the quick reply Tech! I will talk to him, I know the last time we started it , it had a good amount of blow by and the engine is fresh. Was thinking we were messing up the rings sealing with out having the proper PCV

Stock 302,Trickflow 170 ported ,Systemmax intake, custom cam, 75mm tbody,92mm mass air, vortech s trim 12psi, 17 degrees timing with Moates Quarter horse? Be software with meth injection 575 noz with 101 degree intake temps made 490rwhp so on mustang dyno im sure It would be low 400s. Great Videos

When they start making 375-400 wheel on here you are entering the territory where you could split a production block. To give you some context, my wild coupe made 515 RWHP on this dyno, ran 9.44@143 and weighs 3160#. The car is this video has a good block, so it’s limits are a LOT higher!

The whole car is super nice. It got subjected to some brutal weather on the trailer ride down here so any of the grime on it that you see is very atypical of how this car is presented.

I have a cervini fiberglass 4-in cowl hood for a fox body. Brand new they're over $700 it's never been used

I use a Cervini’s 2.5” Cobra hood on my 9 second NA Foxbody. Stock hardware, no pins, easy alignment, and I went 9.44@143 with a 1.35 60’. Over many, many drag passes with a violent launch it never once threatened to come off. It pays off to buy the good stuff in the long run!

Un-metered air through the PCV system? Does that pertain to cars with drive by wire cars or modern cars?

If it uses a MAF system, ALL of the air must go through the meter. If you have an open crankcase breather AND PCV, the PCV system vacuums air out of the crank crankcase which is replaced by air through the open breather, and that air doesn't go through the MAF, so it will result in a leaner mixture, or an excessive correction from the O2 sensors. It doesn't matter if it is an old Foxbody or a late model Coyote, if it uses a MAF to measure the air charge, this applies.

I run them to the agreed waiver limit. The best shift point will be above 6000 RPM if the valvetrain and rotating assembly are up to it though.
