Finally a guy who drives it instead of those boring middle-aged car salesmen. I want 1 this year & also a 996

I love my 2011 Range Rover Supercharged, I've had it since 35k miles and now have 79k. Like you said it's a car thats perfect for any occasion. Driving to Park City to snowboard - perfect, driving to a nice restaurant or the country club - perfect, out to the desert to go shooting - perfect. Additionally, we have two dogs one of which is a German Shepherd which the back and RR accessory cargo gate is ideal for. I will say this though for those thinking this is a bargain, it is for an entry price but keep in mind it still carries the running price of a 100k SUV. Also there is a timing chain issue where RR used plastic guides. Every single one will require the repair at some point (usually 60-70k miles) and it costs around $7-8k to repair. Mine has always been babied and just had it, the water pump and the supercharger pulley replaced under warranty. Had I not had that warranty it would have been $10,600 to repair for a truck that I can maybe get $20k for now. So if you are buying one buy one with that repair completed or if the timing chain goes it will grenade the engine. Last point - having owned a 2013 RR Sport Lux the sport surprisingly comes with more options (fridge in center console, touch entry/exit locking/unlocking, bluetooth music, power tailgate and more storage in compartments since there is no CD changer). Personally, I lean toward the full size, but if you are shopping definitely consider these things.

In the market now, what aftermarket warranty did you purchase that covered you for the timing chain?

I loved this review! I just picked up a 2012 Range Rover full size Autobiography with 68k miles for $24,500. I had to have it shipped in from Missouri and was so excited that I had to watch your video over and over because there are no Autobiography reviews like this one on KZbin. 10/10

@@NickMunozTV Hey!!! any updates on your 2012 range rover? reliability etc? Thanks!!!!
@NickMunozTV2 жыл бұрын
@@Filywardo still have it, it has 87k miles now. I’ve continued to do preventative maintenance on it and it’s been great. You take care of the car, the car takes care of you. The most expensive thing that has happened to it was the blower motor for the a/c went out and they had to take out the entire dashboard. (But at the end of the day that was a BMW part that broke so can you really blame LR) lol

Same story. Have owned RRs since 2009 in Moscow, first was BMW, then 2x 4.2 and this fourth one 5.0SC since 2018. Great cars

Spot on review! Love my 2012 SC. I’ve always owned Range Rovers as a winter vehicle. Recently I traded in a 2005 Range Rover for a 2012 SC Range Rover. It’s crazy to think that these two vehicles are from the same generation. The one major difference from a daily driving standpoint is the infotainment system- yes the 2012 is somewhat dated, but the 2005 system is ancient. The NH winters can get rough and I expect the 2012 Rover will perform better than the 05 model. Yeah as far as reliability you’re spot on, the 05 was a workhorse, required maintenance and had a BMW engine. I mean I didn’t think it was that unreliable...it never left me stranded or broken down due to mechanical issues. I have not had the 2012 Range Rover long enough to fail or have any major issues. I will say that it is way easier to drive and does have that nice leathery scent you’re talking about, along with the ‘creaks’ - spot on observation. Engine- it’s way faster than the 2005. I will go as far as to say it’s a sleeper? It’s way faster than most drivers expect. It has more felt acceleration than my tuned m5 (f10)...no idea how that works...maybe it’s because I’m higher off the ground so I feel more away? Anyway I enjoyed this review along with your other videos. Cheers!

@@aliwarraich5332Np.... thats a fair price being that most would be over 100k miles for the year... Definitely fully check condition and maintenance especially the air suspension. Mine has 60k on it so far, hopefully no new problems anytime soon.

They only made autobiography In 2012 in North America. The 2011 came in Black edition. But this isn’t an Autobiography, no rectangular exhaust tips, I think he placed the autobiography badge on the trunk and changed the side vent grill.
@MC893963 жыл бұрын
They made the autobiography since 2009 i believe. 09-11 it didn’t get the mesh on the lower grill and a few other things. I had a 11 Auto and now i have the 12. Same vehicle, just different front body kit and paint matching door handles
