Picking which rut to go through, changes of rhythm section, lap rider, clutching timing and etc.. This are all the things that need to be in counted during supercross. It goes way harder when you are at the highest level of the sport.

I never knew that it takes that much to actually function while racing. I literally ride and think about random things.

I'm a huge sx supporter, but I'm sorry, only comparing it to other american sports is ridiculous. There are are plenty of other sports that require the same of an athlete, especially if you look outside of your own country for once. F1 for instance.

Nah, as far as the brain functioning, I think bull riding matches with motocross. In both sports, it's fast pace and precision timing which are key to success in both these sports

While supercross is awesome it's not more difficult than stick and ball sports. I'd say they're equally important but in auto racing the machine does a great deal of the work. Maybe more hand eye coordination and visual acuity/dexterity but even that's debatable.

An all out 20 min moto requires alot of work

20 minutes + 2 laps in 4 g forces is 5 times harder on the body and harder than 6 hours of stick sports.

@@HeyImJorg I respectfully disagree. I've played football, basketball and ran track. I ride a sportbike in spirited spurts which causes leg fatigue and arm pump. I found both physically demanding but in differentways. Haven't done a track day yet but I've played in games and ran in big meets. Mountain biking is pretty tough too

You still aren't taking into consideration all of the on the fly adjustments such as dirt condition, traction changes, suspension changes, track breakdown, and other riders. Stick and ball sports while still demanding in their own right, by en large the conditions of the game stay the same. I believe this argument of processing speed and power is almost directly related to why it is so rare to even see a rider win races in their thirties.
