I put it on my Evil Calling today. Removed the token in the shock and put the Megneg with no band in it. I ll start from there . I m pretty much sure I ll end up putting 1 or 2 bands in it.

Love your vids. I’ve been messing around between megneg and normal can on my 2019 Mega. It doesn’t seem to matter what pressure I put in the megneg, it is always right on 30% sag. Pretty much anywhere between 220 and 260 psi gives me 30%. Bands/tokens don’t make any difference to the sag. Did you find this when you set yours up? Seems strange to me. I’m around 85kg with gear.

That is very odd. I wonder if it has something to do with the way the frame goes through travel. Thats very odd

Hi. can diy patch the scratches if it’s deep. I scratched my fork stantions. used a sharp blade to shave the burrs at a almost 90 degree angle so there won’t be any sharp bits to the naked to the eye sticking out that may damage the seals/bushing in the long term. That by itself will stop the scratches from damaging the seals/bushing but won’t stop dirt from filling it and carrying it into the can. Next use a good quality nail varnish mixed with good quality super glue to make your own diy resin epoxy. Only fill in the gap very evenly leaving a very little bubble above the gap. Let it dry 24-48 hours. Then use very fine emery paper and gently sand/buff only the affected area very slowly and carefully till it’s almost flat. Final step use a metal polish and lightly buff the affected area only , wipe it off and apply some silicon fork lube to wipe it over. If u use black nail varnish than the scratches won’t even be visible. It’s going 8 months and the diy fix is as solid as day one. Just did a lower leg service last week and it worked well with no damage to the seals/inners bushings and very clean indicating no dirt was carried thru. Ps using my gf’s iPad hence her acc n profile pic on this comment😅

what is your opinion when you compare X2 and superdeluxe with megneg?
@jsv4383 жыл бұрын
I have an RT3 but am considering now going to the super deluxe ultimate. Does the MEGNEG mod the shock to the 3 position switch? I'm asking because even though I want to go to the super deluxe, I really love the option of that 3 position switch on my deluxe RT3. ~JSV
@mtbtelly55223 жыл бұрын
The megneg is just aan air can, the 3 position is on the superdeluxe rc3 and rct, superdeluxe ultimate just has open and lockout positions as well as independent lsc adjustment
@DanOsborne3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, after your input a bit. I’m a 75kg rider but ride some pretty big stuff so end up running the Super Deluxe with 4.5 tokens for bottom out support. Just received a MegNeg and I’m thinking a good starting point would be to remove all tokens and add all 4 bands? Seems popular amongst Trek riders
@mtbtelly55223 жыл бұрын
If you’re gonna start with all 4 bands in I’d go 3 tokens. Or 2 bands 2 tokens to start

Did you find that when airing the shock back up you need to cycle the shock more than with the regular can?
@mtbtelly55223 жыл бұрын
Not really. It needed more air but the equalisation process was still the same

My mates kashima coatings flaking on his 36 stanctions he talked to a suspension specialists he said wouldn't worry about it just fill it with similar colour nail polish, the chunks look deep maybe. 2of a mm. so I wouldn't worry about your shock unless your losing air, I personally thought stanctions where super fragile but they can take a little beating so it seems.
@mtbtelly55225 жыл бұрын
Adam T yeah fork stanchions can take a beating, but this one interacts directly with the negative air chamber. It seems to be holding for now. The seals leak a bit but have from the start

That is NOT how you get that o ring out. Pinch it from both sides and slide your fingers together and make slack in the o ring. Do not dig at it like your mining for something

LiveFreeandShred yeah that works on the standard monarch cans and what not but these thicker o rings I had no chance pinching them loose with finger pressure

Gareth Davies I wouldn’t say theres a performance difference, but it opens up the ability to tune the spring further than standard. I was maxxed out with spacers and needed a little more spring curve support, with the new can I’ve got 1 spacer in and its more supportive. Impressed so far
