We stayed in shipping container micro rooms in a theme park! Full tour and review of the Shark Cabins at Thorpe Park in May 2021, with full room tour, hotel tour, dining at Infinity in The Dome, and a few rides since we got some free FastTrack passes with our hotel rooms! The Thorpe Shark Cabins are one of the most unique hotels we've stayed at, they're micro cabins inside of shipping containers, all shark themed, really cool and weird, with pros and cons that I go over with you over the course of our 2-night stay. At the end of this video, I share my thoughts after the 2 night stay, which had really changed by the end of the 2 days, and some REALLY important tips and things to keep in mind if you are thinking about staying at the Shark Cabins during this time. Would you ever stay in shipping container rooms?
Our day at Thorpe Park in May 2021 is a seperate video that you can watch here:Thorpe Park 2021 U.K Theme Park! NEW Black Mirror Maze (Inside) + Intense Coasters, Rides & Food! • Thorpe Park - UK Theme...
Thanks for watching!

I see alot of comments about the cabins and yes there small but this park never used to have any accommodation. You turned up and done a day here and left. The park really isnt big enough to welcome a longer stay in proper accommodation. I think they built these to save cost of course but also to experiment how popular it would be for people to stay at the park which could lead to building proper accommodation further down the line in the future.also these cabins are ok for a over nite stay and could save a tired drive home. Great vlog as always. Uk resident.

Yes I agree. I also tried to be very kind and honest about it. There are pros and cons, I think I showed them in the best light I could but also I had to be honest about the cons. I think it’s one of those things that’s a fun unique experience and an adventure but it’s not for everyone. I think like you said it’s for a night or two not for long term. Thanks so much!!

@@SuperEnthused of course you summed it up perfectly.. my main reply was to the others that were commenting about how bad they were etc. Yes not for everyone of course.id say there aimed at a couple for a few nites stay and not for a family. When you say "Big enough", do you mean in terms of land, or attractions?! they don't have so much space since they got rid of all the land the other side of the lake... I feel like Merlin always look at what the big American parks are doing, go "Yeah we'll do that!" without breaking down why it works over there and how much investment it needs... so the UK version ends up done on the cheap, feels gimmicky and over-priced and unnecessary! Does Thorpe Park need a container-hotel? Or would they do better to have an official partnership with a local Premier Inn or Travelodge or something that offers perks like a free shuttle? The thought of being in that tiny cabin with two small over-excited children.... my head hurts just imagining it!

Sure looked fun. I enjoyed seeing this place. It's not for me. I'm glad you got to go. Would have liked seeing what the dining experience would have been liked, had they not been so particular. Didn't look like it was crowded. I think they could have made exceptions had they wanted too, or knew they had Super Enthused in the house. Well, you could have videos that delicious pizza made England style. It's amazing the variety of pizzas that are out there. Just when you thought you've seen them all, here comes another concoction. You actually do them the favor of promoting a "great experience". Hello Sam! So good to see you both! Enjoyed your video!

There is a joke around here that says the British summer is scheduled for a Tuesday this year, we just don’t know which one. We don’t have reliable weather sadly. I could bore you with the reasons why, Gulf Stream and all that. The UK is very temperate and variable. Start of June as I post this, a few days ago it was pouring with rain and about 10c/50f. Today, wall to wall sunshine and a good 24c/75f and temperature raising over next week, but week after schedule to drop down again. In Feb, we were having snowball fights one week, picnics the next. May, last year was glorious, this year it’s been awful, wettest I can remember. July and August are the hottest months generally (not guaranteed), but not necessarily the driest. 90f, even over 100f has been known. Come visit. We make up for the weather with good humour! 😊

Stayed in the Shark Cabins a few years ago, was fine for a night, not sure I'd want to do anymore! I think "adequate" is the best word to describe that restaurant, it's a shame there's no other options anywhere nearby.

Its cute, but no Windows? Being a fire fighters daughter, are fire laws different in the UK? In case of fire, don't you have to have more than one exit? I am sure steal contains don't burn as fast? Idk cool concepts though.

It’s a tricky one… there is too much competition in the local area for Thorpe park to build a full scale hotel especially as it would need to attract a corporate crowd in the off-season

That’s a good point. They are just meant to be something for a quick stay. Most other resort hotels have conventioners and other uses.

Where would you suggest staying in England if your on a budget. Do people there ever rent out spare rooms? Bed and breakfast? LV your videos. It's going to be shocking temperature wise when you get back It will be 90° in Wisconsin this week.

I would say Premier Inn is always solid and affordable.

There are loads of options in the UK Terry. As @superethused says Premier Inn is good for low cost overnight accommodation, we also have Travelodge. Many pubs have rooms and many people run B&Bs especially near attractions such as Theme Parks and holiday resorts. Plus Air B&B will put you in touch with rooms/homes for hire. Oh and a lot of places are doing camping pods now which are cute and a similar size to the shipping container Jackie stayed in.

@@blus00p Thankyou Beverly! My interest in going, is kind of a bucket list thing. I want to spend a couple months between England, Ireland, Scotland, and Germany. I'd also need a tour service because I don't think it would be safe to start driving on the left at my age.

@@terrynewell8968 If you don't like driving, the UK has one of the most comprehensive train systems in the world. All major cities are connected, but also many towns, villages, tourist attractions, airports etc. Many people coming to the UK get around this way. The only thing is it can be expensive to just turn up and buy a ticket on the day, it pays to plan and tickets are typically on sale about three months ahead of time for longer routes. Buy in advance and it's quite possible to get a three-hour train journey between London and another big city for under $35. You can also get rail cards, and maybe even visitor passes that give you discounts.

@@balearicrob great advice! @terrynewell Because the UK is a relatively small island you could travel by train to most places within a day. If you work out where you want to go, most destinations will be connected by the trains, then you'd just need a taxi from the station to your final destination.

Yea, there's no way I'd stay in those cabins more than one night. I don't know how many people stay in them at one time, but I feel like they missed an opportunity to make them more comfortable and inviting by adding at least 2 or 3 together. The dining option was sad. This probably wouldn't last long in the US. We're too spoiled. 😉

I always stay at Premier Inn too, they're so good! Is there an equivalent brand of cheap, reliable hotel in the USA? :)

I was talking about that this trip, I wish the USA had a comparable brand of hotels like Premier Inn. We don’t. Even like Holiday Inn, it’s so different everywhere and you never know what you’re getting. Premier inn is always solid, clean, comfortable, and a great value.

Travelodge in the UK is also pretty decent country wide too. Both offer cheap B&B accommodation useful for the odd sleepover. Shame the US don't have anything similar.
