I don't think the movie was that great. The writing was pretty iffy (I watched the English Dub) but it was cute. The ending however hit me hard. When the music started and the old man cried I joined him. It hit right in the soul in a way only anime has ever been able to do. For that reason alone it's worth a watch, an astounding ending to a rather unremarkable movie.

Have you Ever listen to or heard of the "magnus archives" podcast? Is a horror podcast about an fictional institute that deals with weird and supernatural statements given by the fictional civilians and the guy who has to transcribe all written statements to audio files, giving the podcast a feel of someone telling horror stories around a campfire or something but with overarching narratives with some of the supernatural encounters and the life of the narrator and some of the other institute employees. It's really fun and the narrator voice is a 10/10

This game was so good it got me to watch Advent Children and play Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus (which I now see as a massive mistake) but still stands as a testament to how it affected me! Personally FF7 Remake is one of my favorite games of all time because of how it oozess style, personality, and plays like a butter (most of the time) and trying to piece together what Sephiroth’s plan is, and how far ahead he has thought, is so amazing because it gives new life to a 20 year old property and game; honestly I’m down for the ride and so are most people! Hopefully we can get our hands on a PS5 by then here’s hoping!!

The 654 Boulevard letters are almost certainly just a case of the victims having made up the letters for attention. But once they went too far they couldn't just be like, "oh yeah that thing that we threatened multiple people over and went about creating multiple frivolous lawsuits. That actually never happened, so are we all cool lol?" Basically nobody received letters until just before the family moved in and more importantly the dumbasses put tons of threatening letters written in the same writing style into the mailboxes of their enemies when the family didn't get what they wanted at a town meeting.

That's not good enough reason to conclude that the family were the ones behind the original letter. While it was wrong of the father to post the second group of letters, keep in mind that this was after years of stress built up not only from the original letters but also the trauma of being dragged through the mud publicly (someone even suggested he and his wife be tarred and feathered on facebook). Moreover, he freely admitted that he was the one who posted the second group of letters. If they were also behind the original ones, admitting to this is irrational as it makes them look much more suspicious. I'm not saying they're certainly innocent, but your claims that they're almost certainly guilty are false and harmful. Consider the possibility that they were really were innocent, and now on top of all the harassment they underwent they now have to face accusations that they were behind it all along. Lacking proof, neither of us know the truth, and assuming one party guilty in spite of that is wrong.

Probably my favorite thing to happen this year would be the reveal, the hype cycle. and finally, the release of the long rumored, often canceled Metroid Dread. This was a game that's had Metroid fans curious for nearly 15 years. Originally starting as a DS title, Sakamoto found it difficult to bring his full vision to life. So, he waited until the 3DS, but even then it still proved unobtainable. Fast forward to the release of the Nintendo Switch and finally with the technology available he was able to bring his vision to life with the help of Mercury Steam. And...the game is actually amazing. Fantastic, fluid controls, great visuals, a nice, pretty sad story if you know your Metroid lore, and the best Samus we've had in years. I'm a sucker for a game like this, a game that took years to make and finally sees a release where it's actually of quality. And what's better, judging by sales this game could very well revive the Metroid franchise.

Having now gone and watched Malignant, I honestly cannot tell whether it was intentionally meant to be as funny as it was, or if it was a movie written by people taking it and themselves FAR too seriously - that odd middle ground being the 'golden zone' for so-bad-it's-good horror movies, I suppose. If wolf's video wasn't enough to get you to watch it, I'd like to add my highest recommendation on top. Don't take it too seriously, at least not as seriously as it seems to take itself, and don't be worried about the movie having been spoiled just from learning that there's a twist. Seriously, I went in expecting a twist, but I was not expecting THAT twist. The 'wake up Gabriel' moment with those fucking t-rex arms. I was howling with laughter.

I often wonder which were the recommendations that made some of us go “woah, he actually watched and liked that thing enough to include it in his Favorite Things series!”. Can’t think of any examples in this installment but there were definitely some in past videos. Btw, I’d love him to talk in depth about slice of life media someday and see what can make it so captivating to some.

Don't look in the replies some guy decided to put a bunch of spoilers for Worm. I cannot wait for the day someone recommends you to read Worm and after getting sucked into that rabbithole for a couple months, come out with a three hour fever dream video, and on that note; you should definitely read Worm. Also if you like the art of Suguru Tanaka I highly recommend checking out Julian Faylona's Impressions of the waning void.
