2 years later, and still love it. Tuned the carb, ripped the Texpress lanes, and terrorized I-35W corridor. A joy to drive. Keep up the great work!

A year later, and still love my car. Replaced the hood prop gas springs... Still, a fantastic car to drive. The 427 never gets old. Keep up the great work!

I enjoyed this a lot more than Matt Farah's One Take on this car. I love Matt's videos, but this was just a cut above. Awesome video, Jeff. Love the podcast too.

I love this video, well done, Jeff. I grew up down the street from a Superformance location in Chalmette, LA right outside of New Orleans. Every day I had the pleasure of seeing their cars in various stages of the build. I would slow-roll my bmx bike past the open garage doors every chance I could. My older brother got to drive one of their Cobras, said it was one of the most visceral and exhilarating driving experiences of his life. The Daytona is on the short list of my favorite race car designs including the 250 GTO, 917, 904, and BMW "Batmobile" CSL.

FYI, the 'Peter Brock' referred to is not to be confused with the Australian touring car driving legend, but is an design genius with the same name.
@peterf4552 Жыл бұрын
Apparently the Australian Peter Brock died while driving a Peter Brock-designed Daytona Coupe. What are the odds?
@PiDsPagePrototypes Жыл бұрын
@@peterf4552 One can only guess. It ws a gorgeous example too, possibly the highest quality engineering of any Daytona Coupe replica, and potentially stronger then the originals, full cage throughout, I understand it's been rebuilt since.
@malcmo11 күн бұрын
The American Peter Brock did not design the Daytona Coupe that the Australian Peter Brock died in it was built and designed in Victoria Australia on the Mornington Peninsula they are called Daytona Sportscars and built by Borland Racing Developments they also do not run a Ford V8 they run a Chevrolet LS V8 🌟🚘🌟

This has been my dream car since I was 10yo. 30 years later, still my dream car. Those seats are terrible though, seriously the top of the head stops right at his shoulder blades, not everything needs to be an exact replica.

When considering $200k for a Porsche or Ferrari I wonder if the value is really there. Were I shopping in that price range this car would be a no brainer. How can you put a dollar value on the ultimate automotive aesthetic?

Why does this only have 4K views?! Such an epic car and great video. 🤔 consider it shared. ( sorry I might only be able to get you one more view)

you mention the exhaust sound, but with those independent throttle bodies with no apparent air cleaners, how's the induction noise when you open it up?
@TheHooniverse8 жыл бұрын
+Stanley Zitello The exhaust really is so loud it was hard to hear anything else. There's definitely induction noise though, but it gets drowned out by the loud pipes. -JG

They have stack filters - they do cost a lot of power, though.

You should have mentioned that they won the World Championship in ‘65, the only American cars ever to do so! Alas, the Superformance Coupes don’t weigh nothing. Think they’re pretty close to 3,000lbs. The originals were ~2,100lbs.
@rbmaserang5 жыл бұрын
i wouldn't give two shits if it was produced originally or recently. i don't think steel gives a shit either. it shouldn't matter, but people bring with them the ego, which discounts that which is not original. but im ready for the sons of bitches who try to put down a new model, the steel is real. and you just don't get it
@vanilakung75638 жыл бұрын
So they build replicas?
@MrMlbfan68 жыл бұрын
Yeah with everything original
@Realtime15018 жыл бұрын
not really it's more of a reproduction of the original Carroll Shelby approved the production and 90% of the reproduction is interchangeable with the original
@TheDustyaman8 жыл бұрын
+Realtime1501 But they will always be a replica to a investors or collecter
@Realtime15018 жыл бұрын
+TheDustyaman yeah but you also will never drive an original on a road,
@TheHooniverse8 жыл бұрын
+TheDustyaman actually, the Superformance examples are entered into the Shelby Registry and soon there's talk that they could be allowed into vintage racing events.
