I have to admit I cried when I watched this the first time, especially after reading this was the end of superfruit. I've never seen best friends as close as they are, especially after trying the relationship thing. It didn't hurt their friendship at all; the opposite in fact.

This is a Promise. They have tried the romantic side and were together for a short while but realized it wasn't there for them. So they became best friends. Scott is protected of Mitch, you can see it in some of their music videos. Mitch's dad wrote that they have been there for each other and always will be.

After When In Rome released a hit version of this song in '88, it was re-discovered by many in '04, when it was featured in the tetherball scene between Napoleon and Deb in "Napoleon Dynamite".

The original is a love song, by When in Rome, done in the 80s. This is more of a friendship promise and a farewell to Superfruit as they ended their project after this due to just no longer having time for it.

The original came out in the 80's from a group called When in Rome. It was a great song then, one of my favorites to come out of that era. this is not a bad recreation of it

I love how this was filmed and directed. Not only is Adam dancing to the song Superfruit is singing, they are mimicking Adam’s moves and it’s edited so that the movement continues almost seamlessly. I do think they meant it in a platonic way, although the song was probably originally about a romantic relationship. Edited, because I can spell better than that.

And that was the last we heard of Superfruit. I don't know if their Pentatonix contract doesn't allow them to release new Superfruit content, But the sound/style of Superfruit and Pentatonix are very different, so it shouldn't matter. And tbh, I love Superfruit's music, but their vlogs were so much fun to watch. Miss them a lot, even if they are still actively releasing music with their Pentatonix team. And I don't care, this is my personal opinion..... in a perfect world Scott and Mitch are just Meant to be a couple. They make each other shine, and you can see they truly are soul mates and love each other at a level very few couples do reach.

The Promise was originally recorded in 1987 by British New Wave band “When in Rome”. This isn’t a Superfruit original song. It is simply a beautiful and perfect way to capture Mitch & Scott’s bond. I do not get the sense there is a romantic connotation. Those are the lyrics as written for the original song. Overall, the song’s sentiment, musically and lyrically, fits them and this video (with Adam basically out here being a swan). Absolutely love this video. Great reaction!

This is exactly what figure skating is like. In the final rounds the men, women and pairs skate to music and coordinate their incredibly athletic moves with the music. Ice dancers also, but with less athletic moves. It's the only sport I follow.
