Is it me or does young Alex get the intonation spot on? Just after Alex's dad disappears, that speech has the same cadence as when Chyler's done other similar speeches. The actress is very good for getting it so on point.

It's possible Chyler did the scene for reference first. Or the younger actress has just watched enough clips to get down the style. More often these days when doing a body swap episode, they'll do a run through with the normal actor for the body actor to reference and mimic. Something similar happened with Sheldon's brother in Big Bang Theory. Jerry O'Connell referenced the Young Sheldon show to get some of the voice and mannerisms and aged it up.

Well what it seems like is when a person is in there too long they forget about the real world which is what happened to Bonnie. She forgot about her sister being sick and thats why Alex didnt remember her 14 year old self. They can only remember things that happen while they're in VR once they're locked in.

Honestly I think the opposite. Alex has spent most of her life never truly getting what she wants. She regards her life as less Important than Kara’s. She is the one who was to be smart and responsible and care for everyone else, so she never gets to have her own life. For a long time she was never truly allowed to want anything, so when she finally gets the chance to want something it seems like she is rushing into it. Really she has wanted those things forever, but she puts her self after everyone else and it’s regarded as totally ok.
