Supergrass were one of my favourite bands of the Britpop era. Their second album, In It For The Money, is fantastic from beginning to end.

They make simple chord sequences but in really unique ways.. iv been learnin a few of their songs on guitar and found theyre really quite interesting for the sum of their parts 😎

These guys aren’t just a one-hit wonder. They’ve released a steady stream of killer songs since their inception. I’m partial to the funky “Pumping on Your Stereo.” “Alright” is probably their best-known song, but I think you’d be absolutely blown away by the drums on “Diamond Hoo Ha Man.”

Some of their bigger, more popular tracks are a bit cheesy, but their back catalogue is extensive, and brilliant. Gaz Coombes, lead singer, is amazing, as you have just discovered. The best, and most under rated Brit pop band of the '90's. Check out Sun hits the sky, Richard III, Cheapskate, Faraway.

Supergrass emerged as part of the Britpop scene in the mid 90s, but always had a lot more about them than most of the other bands involved. They display quite a range of styles and are well worth looking into a bit deeper. Liatening to this song again, it struck me that it is quite Paul McCartney esque. I don't mean that it sounds like him, more that the way they throw lots of different ideas in and transistion in a way that it's almost songs within the song.

That was fantastic. Never heard of this band but I enjoyed their sound very much. Reminded me a bit of Tears For Fears. Nice harmonies, synths. I’m gonna check out more from them. Nice reaction Chod.

I think this is their best song, from their third, self-titled album, but their best album overall is their second, In It For The Money, as others have said. Still chuckling to myself that you seem to have forgotten your reaction to an earlier song of theirs, Alright, which you *really* didn't like! It was their breakthrough hit in the UK, and I'm very fond of it, although it does betray that they were still in their teens when they recorded it.

Top man for reacting the Supergrass, such a great band, got a little lost over time compared to the other 'Britpop' bands like Oasis, Blur, Pulp, etc but Supergrass were fantastic

oh. my GOD how much do i love that you are reacting to these guys.....they put on KILLER live shows, back in the day. I recommend "Caught by the Fuzz" and also "Richard III" for some more of them. So fun! For similar sounding music that is slightly less chaotic/fun, you could try the UK band South, who kicked my ass live around the same time several times too. Whee!

There's a deep well of amazing Supergrass material. The first 2 albums especially. They also often will go in a completely different direction in their songs, 'Late in the Day' being a memorable one for that. On a slightly different note/act, will you be reacting to any more Dusty Springfield tracks? I've loved the 3 you've done so far.

You have reacted to this band before. You reacted to "Alright", which I finally found out where I had heard it before. In the movie Clueless. Glad you gave them another chance. It is a different sound on this one. This song kind of reminded me of The Sundays "Here's Where the Story Ends".

In my opinion, Supergrass the BEST band to ever come out of Oxford (including Radiohead). Really love these guys, esp Life on Other Planets, and In It for the Money albums, but they're all great!
