This was not a feature I was expecting at all from Toontrack and it's awesome! I have all kinds of drum samples that I haven't been able to use for years with my electronic drums so I'm pumped to try them out, but I haven't got that far yet. I'm absolutely loving SD3 so far though. Just scratching the surface, but I can already tell I'll have this software down in another week or two. It's way more user friendly than SD2. I've had some MIDI mapping issues that I've been working with on with Henrik, but I think I figured it out on my own. As always, there will be issues that come up with new products like this, but you just keep plugging away until you figure it out. Great job on this guys! It really is amazing.

Is it possible to load custom samples for different articulations and load different versions of the samples in order to improve the round robin default feature?

Very informative and super simple adding samples in this way, I do this a lot myself now thanks! Be advised though, samples brought into Superior Drummer 3 WILL be effected by the kit's mixer, processing, and bus processing inserts (EQ's, Compressors, Enhancer's etc) changing the tone of your sample(s) considerably. If you're using a kit with no superior drummer inserts then no problem, this is almost never the case though
@SamueleForte3 жыл бұрын
You can route the sample to a separate mixer channel!

but is it possible to add my own samples with velocity layers and round robin?

I also would like to know the answer to this question!
@toontrack7 жыл бұрын
Hi, Imported samples are one shot only. It is possible to create you own velocity layers with the Velocity Gate Property box, but each layer can only have one sample.

I wonder how this works with a hihat. For example an 808 open and closed hihat sample on a new hihat and making it playable with a digital drumset like a Roland.
@DEADLINETV7 жыл бұрын
I know the new library is elaborate and vast, I was just looking how to create a hi hat from scratch, but maybe I'd first check thoroughly what Toontrack offers. They might already have in there what I want to create! Thanks David!

Whenever I import a sample, it either makes no sound or a deafening popping/buzzing noise. The samples are 44100 hz 64 bit wav files.

Can you add the files and bypass the effects chain? If I want to use the files as is without adding anything to them I'm not sure how to do this as they are now part of that channel.
@toontrack Жыл бұрын
Hi! If you right-click the added instrument in the stack, you can change the microphone routing and create a new channel for that instrument. Please contact our Support for step-by-step instructions. Use the Contact Support button at the bottom of any FAQ on our site to submit a support ticket. www.toontrack.com/faq/how-do-i-contact-support/

Ok, it sounds really good...what I don't get is why the SD3 presets sound like crap and not as powerful as this one when you can create awesome presets within 20 minutes.

Can I choose a specific frequency range of the imported samples? Lets say from 40hz to 65hz and blend it in to the kick?
@toontrack6 жыл бұрын
When you add a sample it will create a channel in the mixer... you can then add an EQ/filter to shape the sample however you like... for that matter, you can add any combination of effects to your sample.

Hi, No. .dsnd files are not supported as they are simply packages for multiple wav files. Only individual (one shot) audio files can be imported.

Nice, but not all that useful unless you can at least map velocity to volume for the one-hit samples.
@OrionBurdick2 жыл бұрын
That's what the Velocity Gate allows you to do. For example, if you import 2 samples and add them to a stack, you can select the first sample and set the velocity gate to Low 0, High 90, then select the second sample and set it to Low 91, High 127. Now you will only hear one at a time depending on the velocity.
