In my opinion, the Superior Spider-Man story line is one of my favorites. If gives a clear perspective of how different Peter and Octavous are on the definition of being a hero. Also shows that Ock assumed he understood Spider-Man but he never did and never was able to get the amount of responsibility Peter had

That's actually intentional on the Avengers' part. At this point, the team (Aside from Wolverine and Spider-Woman) don't know Peter's identity, and this even extends to not removing his mask while unconscious. They only performed a brainwave scan to not violate Peter's right to a secret identity. (Also, the scan would've picked up mind control, since Otto and Peter swapped minds, it's not technically mind control) Basically, Peter got screwed because the Avengers actually respected him

As someone who has an immense hatred of screwball (I usually just avoid the comics, but the “geniuses” at insomniac thought she would be a good side character that you need to confront for 100% and get all the costumes), this issue is easily one of my favorites. I’m disappointed that she wasn’t killed by kraven in the sequel to the game (though I agree she isn’t worth his time, but he could’ve ended our suffering).

As interesting of a story this is, it would have been appreciated if Peter wasn’t the only one who wasn’t so oblivious. Like, the Avengers’ Skrull test couldn’t pick up anything that was off? They should have been able to tell that the brainwaves still weren’t Peter’s.

They didn't search for that though. Avengers first tought was that he is either controlled by someone or it's an impostor. And I'm pretty sure to confirm that brainwaves are not Peter's they need original sample to compare them which doubt they had - after all Spider-Man keep his secret identity even from them

At least writers acknowledge that they would step in eventually if they felt it necessary and not have them conveniently disappear during the duration of the story, but still.

Like you’re telling me with the amount of mystic sorcerors , shapeshifters, clones, and countless, countless characters with advanced psychic powers everyone of the avengers have met they were completely blind to this glaring change (again, countless psychics could have easily told this shit) Like cap in this issue just listed all the other possible shit superior wasn’t but body swap wasn’t even considered. Also isn’t a skrull supposed to be a way way more advanced shape shifting that could near perfectly copy all aspects of said person, so wouldn’t being able to tell this isn’t Peter be easier than finding out if he’s a skrull or not Lastly, black widow, aka super spy and master of manipulation/psychology’s only response to an image clearly showing something strange with an arrow pointing to the Spider-Man face only response is “hurhur he sucks at drawing”

Unfortunately, I was out of the loop when Superior Spider-Man went down and was only reading what some fans called Adjectiveless X-Men and Superior Foes of Spider-Man. While I loved the humor in that series (to the point I was willing to overlook how dirty it did Shocker), I always thought it was kinda crappy of Nick Spencer to use Superior Spider-Man as an excuse to pitch an idea that had nothing to do with it (the one issue in the miniseries that relates to Superior Spider-Man wasn't written by him). Fun, harmless crappy, but still crappy. After seeing this video, I now realize how much of a disservice I did to myself by only reading Superior Foes.
