The dialog, "Take me home", is the most important part of the trailer. It was James Gunn directly telling the audience he understands who Superman is and he's going to bring that Superman [back] to a manstream audience. It's also very metaphorical that the trailer opens with him being beat down, like the character has been in previous movies irl.

I'm glad you guys did a reaction so quick, i needed to see ya'll get excited too! Like many others, I've been feeling super hero fatigue for years (personally since Endgame). As a result it's been hard to get excited for the deluge of movies and shows that have come out since then. And like Sal, I really wasn't pumped for James Gunn being at the reigns. But this trailer got me misty-eyed as Superman holds a special place for me. Krypto! Clark Kent looking kinda clumsy getting to work! A crowd of people cheering Superman! Fingers crossed that the only real line of dialogue being spoken, "Take me home", is indicative of Big Blue being portrayed on the big screen in a way that fans have been clamoring for. A beacon of hope. Someone standing for truth, justice and a better tomorrow.

It's honestly the Jon Williams OST and Superman actively saving the kid in the trailer that's carrying right now. I do not like that there are more superheroes in this film. Where is the outcry that was there for Zack Snyder when he did the same thing? Also, Superman isn't all smiles in this trailer. Where's the outcry that he's moody and broody that Snyder got? This trailer left me interested but not excited. Little things like opening on Superman in the Yamcha's dead meme pose, to the John Williams score. Which for me only signifies a sincere reverence for 1 & 1/2 pretty good movies (and 1 exceptional portrayal) not a sincere reverence for the character and/or you, the creatives, being somewhat unconfident that your take can standalone. The colour grading & the JLI costumes are a little flat & unappealing for me. BUT the kid raising the Superman flag calling for help is one of the best bits of Superman anything I've ever felt. Plus Corenswet's dichotomy of Supes & Clark perfect, Hoult's Lex oooh baby. So even with quibbles and reservations (notably Gunn being 50/50 for me in his wheelhouse & this being, hopefully outside it) there's enough to like, and one thing in particular to love already.

It looks very CW to me, but it might have potential and we'll need to see more trailers to find out.. The suit still looks like baggy pajamas, and the brief look, we got at the other costumes look bad as well.. Ultimately the real question is not what do geeks like us think of it, but rather will this bring the general audience who has sat out the last eight or nine DC superhero bombs back into the theater? I honestly don't know. The problem is if they don't show up DC is screwed because if the reported budget is correct this movie has to bang a billion dollars just to break even

I see the two moments I pointed out as the moments where Clark shows his humanity, making an effort to save the people he's adopted. That feels a little condescending, but considering what Clark can do, he really did adopt humanity. Also, you flinch when rain gets in your eye, even though it won't hurt you, of course Clark flinched.
