For all that people talk about the flying through rings whenever this game comes up, the ring stages actually seem like the best part. You consistently beat the ring sections first try and it's generally clear what to do, which isn't true about any other part of the game.

Me, at 17, showing my best friend and crush the entire deadprem2 lp, spending hours just relaxing together: sgf is so funny and good at presenting this game. Me, 29, excitedly dragging my partner into the room: BABE SGF IS PLAYING SUPERMAN 64 This video is good. But also, I appreciate you sgf. The deadprem was my first lp of yours, back on something awful. I didn't usually like video lps, but it was so highly rated, I couldn't not. I think I caught up when Emily's last side quest came up ... Deadprem had so many issues, but it's still so warm for me, and you are a huge part of that. Illbleed was so strange and you put so much time into editing so many of the scares in. That dedication to showing us randos why the game captured your imagination is really cool!! I feel like your lps were the first time I saw an LP that really ... Understood what it took to showcase and communicate what makes a game unique without having to say it or explain it. You're excellent at letting the good and bad qualities of the game be presented as they are, while also understanding how to present those good qualities for people who would never play those games otherwise. Spy fiction was also one I loved early on... I know that it was maybe boring in some ways, but it was funny, and you amplified the humor so smartly just using resources the game gave you. It has so much creativity and thought and it has such a fun spirit to it. Mode was insane as an LP, but also just fucking fascinating how you approached different "player characters" as if it were an infinity engine rpg with the most incomprehensible system possible. There's way way more. I know. But it's been good. I'm glad you stream. I'm glad you still seem to enjoy it. I hope you don't grow to hate it or find it a burden. If you ever want to stop, I know you'd stop. But for another year, I'm grateful. It's funny how much you've informed my sense of humor for so many years. But also, it's been helpful to me to have the kind of calm and measured approach you have to games and commentary. Everyone has bad life stuff. I did. But your videos have always helped me relax, even when things were tense. And that's special to me. I don't want to be parasocial bc obvs I'm a viewer who just enjoys commenting here and on twitch. If I remember correctly the ring based gameplay was a consequence of DC not wanting Superman to do anything "too violent" in the game, hence why the game takes place in vr and the enemies are also robots... in vr. The designers struggled to create objectives that DC would approve of which explains why you constantly do the same thing over and over again.

Man, Darkseid is really one of the most dastardly villains in this game. You expect him to use his omega beams, instead he used his incredible powers to force superman to engage in long tedious and frustrating carrying of his body... he forced superman to confront his value of "There is no time to waste!"

I don’t know how you manage to keep the channel up with your posting/streaming schedule (I can barely find time to manage my full time job, two kids under 4, etc) but I know I appreciate it. You’re one of the few LP’ers I enjoy (one reason is your sense of humor; the other is that you don’t yell all the time like most other LP’ers). Your videos have gotten me through a lot (late nights with a newborn while dealing with postpartum depression, panic attack-laden evenings, losing my job during COVID and the subsequent underemployment I experienced for a year afterwards) and I’m forever grateful for that. I can’t remember if I discovered you during your MODE play-through or the stream of Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties, but I have a specific memory of the scene in MODE where the actor in the dressing room was letting you choose your own adventure, and then you end up sleeping with him and I was laughing so hard I was crying because it was all so absurd. I’ll never have enough Twitch points to recommend a game to play (because of time, due to the above) but I still have my fingers crossed that Bully Demise will answer my prayers and convince you to try the click-and-point adventure Critters for Sale out for an hour 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

There is some kind of weird, foul magic going on underneath Superman 64's hood. I feel like everything in this game is rng because there seems to be no rhyme or reason to what happens and when. What surprises me are the ways in which it is awful. That is to say, all of them. Congrats on another well played year! Life is an unending hellscape from which there is only one release...video games! Your content always delights and I hope it brings you as much joy to make as I get from watching it. Though it was probably a bit one sided during this particular game. Take care and please treat yourself to something less bad next year.

The Choose and Enemy pickup lets you make an enemy fight for you. I forget how you activate it. Action button next to an enemy maybe? It's kind of useless. You'll take more damage trying to activate the enemy and they die easily and don't follow you well.
