Clark fighting the synthetic kryptonite poisoning and merging back will Kal was the best scene of this movie. Reeve was such a terrific actor. He made you believe that Clark Kent and Kal-el were two different people. I loved Christopher Reeve's portrayal of Superman even when the movies were awful.

I really congratulate them for shooting so much practical flying. He looked great, and it really made me wish I could fly as a kid. Would've been a nightmare with all the cranes and wirework, but at least it actually looks real instead of the comparatively lazy vfx you see these days. If you retimed some of the shots, you'd still get the intensity of modern superhero flight scenes, but the landings and feet contact when he touches down looks graceful. It's how you'd take off and land if you were just too lazy to take the stairs lol. The movie had its flaws, but the actual filmaking took some risks. Also how good is the soundtrack when drunk Superman does his thing. Iconic.

Yes Superman can do all this, but even Physics must give to reality. When he picked up that tube by the ladder,...he would've most likely ripped the ladder right off the tube, since the ladder isn't as sturdy & not heavy enough the withstand the weight of the tube. He'd have no choice but to grab the tube itself, & lift it. Same with that Ice over Lake? he could pick it up, but not just on a end part of it. he would've snapped a chunk of it right off. Now getting under it in the middle he'd have alot better leverage when flying with it.
