Clark fighting the synthetic kryptonite poisoning and merging back will Kal was the best scene of this movie. Reeve was such a terrific actor. He made you believe that Clark Kent and Kal-el were two different people. I loved Christopher Reeve's portrayal of Superman even when the movies were awful.

I really congratulate them for shooting so much practical flying. He looked great, and it really made me wish I could fly as a kid. Would've been a nightmare with all the cranes and wirework, but at least it actually looks real instead of the comparatively lazy vfx you see these days. If you retimed some of the shots, you'd still get the intensity of modern superhero flight scenes, but the landings and feet contact when he touches down looks graceful. It's how you'd take off and land if you were just too lazy to take the stairs lol. The movie had its flaws, but the actual filmaking took some risks. Also how good is the soundtrack when drunk Superman does his thing. Iconic.

Visually they tried many new things in this movie, for example: How does Superman rescue people from a fire, How does he see broken bones. Can he create useful things with his ice breath?. Also how would he use these if evil (for a short time). The visual FX of the good vs evil fight is highly memorable but nobody would dare try this in today's films. And of the course the horrific robot woman- stuff of nightmares if you are 8 and watching this.
