What I think the show does really well on is making things grounded. I like how it doesn’t just go for the answer most ppl would choose. Most ppl would look at Superman and think about how awesome it would be but when it’s not your situation and there’s nuances the actual answer might not be the same. I think that the boys reactions make sense based on the way their characters are written and their relationships and view of the world,themselves and of course Clark. All of those things affect how they view Superman
