What people might not realize is that Superman did come back in the DC big crossover event DC ONE MILLION. In the event all the future versions of the JLA (Superman, the Flash, Batman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman) came to the present to visit them. Stuff happens, big supervillain plot gets exposed led by Vandal Savage and Solaris (who, if you bought all the tie ins has returned to life more than once). I won't give away the story, but the comic that this movie was based on was the prequel to that event. Grant Morrison was the JLA writer at the time if you're curious.

Well, I could say this way: if Marvel's Hulk could make him immortal since he can't die cause of his gamma ray genetics, why not Superman? I mean BOTH of them are gonna live lonely since both will outlive everyone, literally..which is extremely sad. But, Superman's weakness is that without the sun, he can't live long.
