The way Natalie turned around and yelled “NO” and all she had to say was “You’re superman”, and the look on Clark’s face and earlier in the episode how John told him he needs backup. Clark’s face says it all regret, shame, and defeat. Honestly John is such a noble guy wearing the suit knowing it’s power is depilated and still wearing it to help superman. He didn’t deserve this. hopefully this sets off Clark to fight better and angrier since he’s proven he fights better that way.

This show is very good at straddling the line of how powerful Superman is and his actual weakness/limits. The acting from Tyler is also brilliant where you see the guilt and feeling of failure without saying a word. It is in the comics time and again that while there are people who believe Superman is a god with all his powers there are limits to what he can actually do. This scene is important because that is literally what people would say when Superman is a little to late or just missed a mark on something. That is why his "private" life is so important to him at times when he has to remember he can't be everywhere and do everything.

Bizzaro for most fights he had with Superman he's actually more powerful than Superman because of him being a kryptonite junkie. Him being under a yellow sun wasn't even weakening him because of all of his kryptonite abuse. And Anderson's team was just a bad idea because they all have individual Superman powers. Tagg was the only one with a remote chance of surviving because of his speed. And speed is a fundamental requirement to beat somebody like Superman. But even then Tagg isn't really a speedster so if Superman hadn't showed up he still probably would've died.

He usually can trivialize threats like Metallo and Lex can only really screw with Superman more than overpower or trap him. Superman really doesn't work well when he fights people because it usually just ends up being "ok I'm done holding back" then he wins. Watching Superman try to solve several problems at once that strain him hammering in the fact that even Superman can't do everything are the only stories I care to read anymore. Superman's limitations are far more interesting than his strengths.

That's why Clark didn't want them involved. He knew that since he himself was struggling with all his powers to battle Bizarro that 3 barely adult kids with only a fraction of his powers each wouldn't even survive. Anderson assumed Clark didn't want help because he didn't approve of the team, when in reality Clark was just trying to protect them. And now two are dead because Anderson cared more about proving Clark wrong than actually listening to reason.

You must not have seen the other CW shows then. Arrow had so many horrific writing problems but it had much better choreographed and thought-out fights with multiple participants than 3 dudes on a flat plane exchanging blows a total of 4 times. The graphics are certainly better than any other CW show, but that doesn't make the fight actually good. Compared to fights like Oliver vs Slade in Season 2 of Arrow this fight has very little going for it. If we're talking fights between metas specifically, I'd say Barry vs Eobard during Crisis on Earth-X was a step above this, too, even if the CGI isn't nearly as good.

The OP Is the one who forced the comparison between this fight scene and other CW show fight scenes, not me. And I'm sorry but even if these opponents are fighting on a totally different level, that isn't an excuse for the choreo to just...not really be there. You can do SO MUCH with two Supermen fighting each other, and this just isn't that. So...yeah, if I'm forced to make the comparison by SOMEONE ELSE'S COMMENT, Arrow has several fights throughout its run that are just straight-up more interesting than this. Even Flash has battles between speedsters that get a lot crazier than this despite a more limited VFX budget and capabilities.

@Mark Guerrero 1: Zod was actually committing most of the collateral damage. Not Clark. 2: Clark was barely keeping up, he frankly spent a good chunk of the fight getting his ass kicked. Any attempt to lead Zod away could have given the guy enough of an opening to kill him, and then everyone else. 3: He couldn't just cover Zod's eyes, heat vision as we see does hurt Kryptonians. His hand would have burned and Zod would have broken free. There was no easy way out for Clark in Man of Steel. He was a rookie, on his first day of the job as Superman and facing a guy every bit as powerful as him who was in the middle of a psychotic breakdown. It wasn't going to end well. P.S. Clark straight up executed a version of Zod with kryptonite in the comics, and it wrecked him emotionally. Just like Cavill's Clark was wrecked by having to kill Zod. It's not like this is without precedent.

First of all Supergirl has nothing on this show. Second, him laying there unconscious with his suit busted reminded me of War Machine from Avengers when he crash landed from Vision’s blast. Third, definitely Iron Man vibes. Lastly, the hammer is like Storm Breaker! 😄
