Kal-El is the bridge between Earth and Krypton while Tal-Rho only sees Krypton as his home. Tal-Rho is a mirror reflection of Kal-El where he wasn't raised by loving parents but feared by everyone because of what he can do. He didn't get the love like Kal-El did in his youth. His young life he was tortured by humans and his belief was humans are savages and realized he can't coexist with humans like Kal-El did. He realized only Krypton can be his family and not the humans. He was willing to sacrifice the human race due to the traumatizing experience he faced in his youth. It kind of parallels to Planet of the Apes between Caesar and Koba where Caesar like Kal-El was loved by his human character and Koba was tortured by humans like Tal-Rho and realized they need to be eliminated.

I really love how decisive this Clark is. He doesn't hesitate to do the right thing every time. Including not falling for Edge's plan to bring their mother back. It's refreshing from a lot of other portrayals where he always seems to be struggling. Which is something I also love about this writing of Lana. She's long been a character that things happen to as opposed to someone that makes things happen. She really stepped up here and made her own choice. It was nice to that both Lois and Clark respected that. The lack of tropes in this show is really impressing me.

Yes, you gotta remember, he's a vey well seasoned and veteran Supes. It is nice to see it from this standpoint, rather than it being a clumsy, fumbling, coming of age / getting comfy in these shoes type of story. e.g. First seasons of Flash and Arrow.

YES! 100% agreed. In the first episode I recognized elements from the Reeve Superman films, the Smallville series, Man of Steel, nods to the original Superman comic book, the Lois and Clark TV series, etc., while having a unique and realistic, cinematic dramatic feel to it that I've never seen in a TV superhero adaptation on this level. This was going to happen sooner or later, as all forms of media evolves, and the other CW superhero shows actually paved a way for more emotionally richer shows like Superman and Lois. Huge thanks to Zack Snyder and his impact on influencing the style of Superman and Lois. I love that different types of filmmaking styles for comic book material exist on the same TV network, even if this series may eventually move to HBO Max. It's breaking new ground for TV superhero adaptations, and this trend will only continue and grow.

I don't think he ended up using it. I think with the blasts from all the other subjekts being absorbed as well he 'only' had to put almost everything he had into his own blast - which is why he had just enough power to almost make it to the fortress.

As a huge Superman fan my whole life, this show is definitely giving me everything I want to see. A good balance of traditional Superman, with some fresh modern twists on the story. Hoechlin is a great Clark/Superman. He's getting up there as my favorite honestly. I hope they can keep the story this solid for seasons to come!

It’s such a small thing but I love how they made Superman’s mom a scientist because we knew that Jor-El was a scientist but we never knew what Clark’s mom did on Krypton (or at least I didn’t know). Also I love how apparently both of Superman’s parents were doing different projects dealing with the destruction of Krypton. Jor-El’s plan was to send a baby to be raised by a couple of Farmers and Lara’s plan was to preserve the memories and essence of their entire species. It’s clear which one of Superman’s parents was smarter, which Jor-El even admits.

Well, Lewis! You’re in luck, because it’s already been renewed for a season 2, that is set to air during the next midseason that we get to. That means they’ll shoot the show this fall and winter. Anyone questioning about how the people that fell after the explosion at the end-it’s explained earlier in the episode when they are finding out about reversing the process-the kryptonian powers would slowly dissipate over time so I take that as reasoning for there survival

Easily my favorite DC CW show out now. It brings something fresh even though it has characters we've seen (too many times). Seeing Clark as a father, Superman saving the day with random crimes around the world. Lois definitely earns her spot in the name of the show because Bitsie Tulloch honestly plays the most badass and enjoyable version of Lois we've ever seen. There's no moment in the show so far that seems unnecessary and irrelevant. Jonathan being the most understanding brother/son in the world and Jordan growing and forming a new open version of himself is amazing too. I can't wait to see where the rest of this season goes and if they can keep up the consistency with their episodes. That "Do you bleed" John moment had me dying of laughter. I had to pause the video just to recover.

Such a good episode and the name drop of the device being Eradicator was nice since in the comics the Eradicator was one of the Supermen who basically was responsible for preserving the Kryptonian race and here you kind of get that in Tal-Rho who is trying preserve the Kryptonian race by any means necessary even if it means sacrificing the human population. What I love about this show again is it's Zack Snyder heavily inspired with the quality in storytelling and the sequence with Tal-Rho charging Kal-El with the mid-flight battle brings back to the sequence between Kal-El/Zod with the roles reversed in Superman & Lois as Tal-Rho is the one that charges Kal-El.

This episode was BEYOND INCREDIBLE. It almost felt like a Season Finale, because of how there was so much at stake. With the rising of the kryptonians and Clark using The Eradicator to stop them. I mean that scene where every sleeper agent (kryptonians) started to fly off was amazing. I was like "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?!!!" And the fact that Clark got to talk to his biological mother and Lois as well is just icing on the cake. Ps: I also love the fact that Jonathan told Sarah the truth abouth her father and that it didn't fall into the tropes that most shows do about keeping secrets to their friends.

I could not agree with you guys more. I also completely fell off every other CW show. Partly because it was just too much, partly because there was an inherent campiness given the target demo and limited budget, and partly because they rarely elevated themselves or aspired to do so beyond the teen melodrama tropes that they rely on. This show is another animal entirely. It scales appropriately, the stakes are high and exciting, twists are exciting and even when they resolve how you expect, the acting and writing remains satisfying. I love this show. I love it more than pretty much everything DC except the Donner Superman movies, the Nolan Batman trilogy, and the DC animated universe.

I havent missed an episode yet and they are all great. Can't wait for season 2 to begin. 5 more episodes left of season 1 and I hope it ends on something awsome. I hope to see the Eradicator as a Superman in comic accurate costume and Steel to appear in his new suit. Dabney Donovan was in the episode who is also responsible for creating Superboy for Luthor and Cadmus. This season has mentioned Steel, Eradicator, Dabney, Superboy comment, evil Superman which feels like it's heading toward Reign of Superman storyline which all they need is to show Cyborg Superman in show.

Season 1 of The Flash is one of my favorite seasons of a superhero show ever. And I eventually stopped watching it because of how repetitive and bad it got. Something similar can be said for Arrow. So I understand the skepticism. This series has another format, it's a more linear story, fewer episodes and better budget. I'm loving it, but I can't deny that from time to time some annoying little things typical of CW seep into it. I'm sure if the series doesn't have an ending in sight and goes on for too long it will eventually lose its quality, like so many others. But until then, I'm going to enjoy one of the best Superman things I've seen since Christopher Reeve...

Man I love this show so much!! I feel like Superman might die the end of this season, then the second season would be an adaptation of 'Reign of the supermen', since we already have set up Steel, Superboy and Eradicator is teased, we could be getting Cyborg superman as the villain of next season!!! and then Superman would come back!!! I hate to say it, I enjoyed this more than Loki ep 2 . But still loved it alot. The thing is CW and Warner have ruined DC for alot of DC fans and they just don't trust it. Man, love this show...more people need to see this. Tyler is a fantastic Clark and Superman and Bitsie is so Lois. Hasn't been a great Lois for me since Erica Durance

Pay no attention to that guy, he obviously doesn't know what he's talking about and obviously doesn't follow your channel enough to realize how you guys critique. I will just say that I love this show. I think this show and Star Girl are the 2 best shows on The CW right now. That's probably because Star Girl was produced for DC Universe 1st and CW took it over, but the filming quality of this show is definitely above and beyond everything else. It's definitely an underrated show and I keep telling people about it in hopes that more people will watch it and we'll get more seasons. I think it's only gonna get better from here so long as they keep the same team that's been working on it since day one.

Has myself a fan of this character , I can say that is soo good to know that this is going to be successful first season, I HOPE that they don't destroy just like they did with the flash ,arrow and Supergirl, oh I almost forgot the horrible batwoman show ahah

This show is paced so well and while I love having shows to watch for 22-23 weeks of the year it makes me wish the other shows cut down to 12-13 episode seasons. The Flash seasons 4-6 have all been pretty below average but if they'd cut out all the filler they could have been pretty good.
