I'm fascinated by the ending of the Superman/Luthor rivalry story... basically Superman realized what he was doing and quit and left everybody alone, and Lex was finally free from the hate, so he could build a new perfect world... I wasn't bothered by the time loop plot twist, knowing this

Actually its not really a time loop twist its more of that thing where it takes a billion years for some people to realise that they are actually the same in fact Lex Luthor was inspired by Superman's strategy same with Stalin and that where his "perfect world had stemmed from and now they went on to become much like Jor-El(Superman's father) and Kal-El(Superman). Its even possible that the Kal-El of Earth might be a Superman on another planet

Kal El was a descendant of Lex Luthor himself. His parents sent him back in time to escape the destruction of the planet, instead of to another world, so that he may try to avert the future that ironically, Superman propelled in the first place. Yes, in the end, Superman was sent back in time, only to square off against his ancestor. All Jor El did, was doom the world to the becoming the cold complacent lot he wanted to avoid in the first place. As Shakespeare said, 'Ain't irony a bitch?'. :D

Thats not actually the twist at all in fact the narrator is literally the dead Superman observing his Lex Luthor and his predecessors as they show the results of all that suffering and all the conflicts

If anyone is here 2021 or forward I’ll just like to say this channel brought a lot of good memories form when I was kid. I remember just coming home from school and watch there animated movies in parts that were free to all of us. I know most of these movies are private now and the channel seems dead but I’ll never forget the joy and entertainment Beyond the Lot showed me from animated movies to motion comics farewell to you all.

Yes. However for the Sun to have entered its red giant phase (assuming that it is not premature) billions of years had to have passed. So they'd be so genetically apart that it doesn't matter. It's still creepy, but non more so than the fact that all humans must share at least one of the same ancestors.

No. This story takes place on Earth-30. The farm he landed on was the same farm the "future" superman landed on. So the events are actually a predestination paradox, meaning that all of Earth-30 is in an stable/endless timeloop. The planet was never Krypton always earth.

This ending was unknowingly cut in the recent Superman Red Son adaptation by WB animation. It's sort of disappointing as the twist reveals the events to be a closed paradoxical loop.

In original, initial concept by Siegel Superman was supposed to be child from future Earth sent into the past. "We" evolved and that's why Superman had physical strength, etc. There are few panels drawn by Russell Keaton on that. Then after official release and being changed to alien initially only explanation for his powers was that 1) people of Krypton (" kryptonians " was made up later) were "race of supermen" and could jump high and run very fast and survive building collapsing on them even back on Krypton 2) Earth has lower gravity. Then, in unpublished story K Metal from Planet Krypton Siegel did additional explanation that it was planet itself powering all its people, and then after it blew up and connection with it was severed for Kal-L (not Kal-El) its fragments started to affect him opposite way but people of Earth it made stronger (back then people of Earth = people of Krypton = humans) . Whole yellow and red son came later on, from writer Otto Binder, who also did lots of comics on Captain Marvel (govt.name : Shazam) . This comic combined future Earth origin of Kal-L with sun radiation being source for powers.

This is still one of the best Superman novels to exist. It shows every ideal of Superman and every way it could go wrong. And the bit towards the end, where Lex stops Superman with one sentance, its fantastic. It even perfectly sums up everything Superman is really trying to do. And no matter how much of a Superman fan I am it still makes you think he really is just a god on earth trying to put us all in his perfect bottle. My only honest problem with the story is the ending, just seems a little anticlimactic.

I don't think it's that they forgot it's that they didn't care. it's sort of like celebrities who have literally everything they could ever want and look for new ways to excite their lives ending in death or it could be they grew to a level where they feared nothing and so didn't bother worrying about a small problem like a exploding star that got overlooked until it was too late
