It'd be real sucky if in his vulnerable state Superman dies to some freak accident or being shot as part of a botched robbery or something.
@ihonestlydontcare44649 ай бұрын
This works oddly well, if you told me there was a story where Superman was relatable I'd probably not give it a chance, but this story makes him relatable with out totally assassinating his character. He's still Superman minus the super strong alien part.

Even then, who expects a billionaire at a bar. Seriously, if you saw a guy that looks like Jeff Bezos at a Wattaburger, would you A: assume it’s Jeff or B: assume it is a guy that LOOKS like Jeff. Most would assume that the guy next to random people at a random bar is a random nobody, not Bruce Wayne himself. Especially since there’s no prostitutes, and everyone know Bruce Wayne is a playboy.

Yep, the New 52 didn’t do Clark well. Don’t get me wrong, this is an interesting story, but Clark just feels too emotionally distant from humanity.
@justinchandler12269 ай бұрын
Being a god among men would do that to you. Seriously, humans live in a world that conspires to kill us with the most mundane things like hitting our head on a wall. Superman lives in a world made from cardboard and styrofoam. How is Superman supposed to truly relate to humans when he can bathe in a volcano for 100% cleanliness without so much as a singer hair. Living as a human, and experiencing human weakness, really helps emotionally connect with humanity when you have been a near-unkillable demigod for 20-some-odd years.

@@justinchandler1226 but it's in Superman's character that Despite being a Kryptonian, he's more of a human at heart due to his upbringing and the influence of the Kent's and life in Smallville. He's been bullied, he's been rejected, He's had a girlfriend. He feels the same feelings anyone would experiencing them. When Superman he spends time with the littlest of folk in society, he knows how to bring a smile to someone's face and comfort them, he's a very chill guy to talk too and he's able to do all that despite having grown up with doubts of belonging. That's not realistic but it's not supposed to be, its an ideal to strive for, superman is supposed to represent the potential of humanity. Not literally but in personality, compassion and idealistic views. Some Great Stories that prove my point: Superman Red & Blue, Superman: American Alien, Superman: Birthright, All star Superman to name a few.

@@jamesturner9019 this is why I love Superman, even if he isn't relatable to certain standards, he doesn't need to be, he's an idea, something to strive for, I hate how most can get that and always talk on him being boring, unrelatable, OP (this one in particular since there are other op characters out there but people find them interesting somehow)
