As much as I've never really cared for the character to Superman, I've always loved the Christopher Reeves incarnation. The bets moment, imo, is that shot in this video where he's talking to Lois. He takes off his glasses, and you physically see the transformation from Clark Kent, humble reporter, to the Last Son of Krypton. Absolutely love that shot!

Christopher Reeve understood how to portray Clark and Superman to make them believable. His Superman oozed optimism and controlled power. Whilst his Clark was down to earth and human. Like his humble upbringining. Above all he mastered the switch on camera. When you saw him do it you finally understood why no one could tell Clark Kent is Superman. Only Brandon Routh emulated the switch.

The poster feels like a comic book cover, something I would definitely purchase as a fan. I hope Gunn and crew deliver in all aspects. From the writing, the tone, the characters, the vfx, the execution, ect. And the score so far....Chef's kiss.

Christopher Reeve’s iconic Superman is the one to beat. He embodied hope for a better America, a dream I fear we’ve long forgot. John Williams’s famous score is irreplaceable and I hope they do homage to it too.

I think this movie is going shock a lot of people. People have been hating on this movie just based off of set pictures…damn near all movies look crazy when they’re being filmed. Especially superhero movies, Robert Downey Junior spent most of his filming in either a half suit or a full CGI suit with dots all over his face. It’s crazy to hate on a product before you even see the finished version…but that’s the world we live in now.

I believe "Look! Up In The Sky!" goes further back. The 1950's TV show (which I say reruns of as a kid in the 70s) included that in the shows opening sequence each episode. "Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's Superman" And maybe even the radio serials in the 1940s?

I like Henry’s suit because it looks tailored to his physique and body type like Toby Maguire’s Spider-Man. I like those costumes where they’re actually designed based on the actors body. I like Henry Cavill’s because they focused on his alien heritage and his duality between Clark and being Superman trying to find balance and hope.

I think that Reeve Superman very much echoed the messianic narrative, especially sending his only son as Joel to earth to serve its collective humanity. I didn’t care for Snyder‘s version of Superman at all. There was absolutely no charisma, charm or warmth to the betrayal. Not my thing. And there are certain absolute in life. As a traditionalist, there are certain things that are so iconic that they can never be replaced. Case in point is the John Williams theme for Superman. Which I consider to be the greatest cinematic. Movie theme of all time. There’s absolutely no reason to improve on perfection. Yes it will be cool for this new film to have its own music and identity. But I just hope that they incorporate John Williams classic theme into it at some point.
