I’ll never understand why Sony thinks we want movies about Spider-Man’s most least interesting side characters. Like we were supposed to get a movie about el muerto, a character that was in 2 Spider-Man issues 20 years ago and a rumored aunt may spy movie. We could be getting projects like a Spider-Man 2099 film, superior Spider-Man film, scarlet spider film, Silk film, a film about one of the spider women, iron patriot film, a showdown between Otto Octavius and Norman Osborn, ends of earth Spider-Man film, a black cat and vulture heist film, a May Parker film, a carnage film, an agent venom film, a film about a serious Venom instead of that obnoxious dipshit in the last 2 venom movies, a Kraven or Morlun film hunting down spider people, and a sinister six film with the most popular Spider-Man villains instead of morbius, but nope, we apparently need solo films about madame web, that blind old woman that never fights in the comics and is just a guide, el muerto, a background wrestler that hasn’t made an appearance since 2005, and morbius, that c list vampire that ppl only know of because of Spider-Man and Blade.

DC made a fuckton of animated films over the last few decades. Just most of em from the New 52 universe were kinda mid, far from terrible though, and with a few incredibly bright gems in between all the 7/10s. Its not always about medium but execution. Animation let's you get away with a lot, Constantine City of Demons is a good example, some of the FX would be way too expensive to do live action. However there's a value to the medium of live action, and I don't think they should do away with it entirely, but I am onboard with them doing less live action and more animation, gives em a chance to properly flesh out the characters with less budgetary constrain than live action. Personally though, still bummed out after hearing rumors that the upcoming DC project, The Authority, has been shifted from live action to animation. Even when it fits the criteria I just described as the comics contain some GNARLY shit

Sony needs to just do 1 of 2 things. 1)Sell all the rights back to Disney or 2) make a deal that gives Marvel the ability to use any of the characters that Sony has the rights to in the MCU. Let it stipulate that 1 out every 6 or 7 movies they released has to be based on the IP that Sony has the rights to. Sony has to foot the bill for their movies, get 75 to 80% of the profit from those movies, and gets like 10% of profit of any movies that is not about their IP, but uses one their characters in a significant way. So if Spider-man shows in an Avengers movie, Sony would get 10% of profit. Same if Black Cat shows up in Daredevil or Morbius in a Blade movie. Every Sony movie doesn't have to be about Peter Parker, either. We could have Araña, Ghost Spider, Black Cat, Miles Morales, or even Ben Reilly have their own movie in the MCU. I'd go see a Silk movie!

I think another reason why they refuse to have Spider-Man in these movies is because they take place in different universes and he’d be constantly traveling to like 4 different universes. And let’s be honest tho, Spider-Man appearing in these movies would probably hurt his brand. They could just make it all one big universe or have Sony characters travel to the mcu but I highly doubt that marvel wants to associate failures like morbius and madame web with the mcu. These movies don’t need Peter Parker Spider-Man to succeed. There are plenty of interesting Spider-Man side characters that could pull off a movie but the problem is sony would rather ignore those characters and make movies on the most irrelevant c list characters like morbius, Madame web, and el meurto, everyone’s favorite Spider-Man character that made 2 appearances in 2005 and hasn’t been talked about til now or make their most popular character venom into a goofy clown. They also need to hire competent writers.

We could see their point of view, how they confronted with Spidey and lost EVERY SINGLE TIME, eventually leading to a Sinister Six movie where we could change POV to go back to SpiderMan as the main protagonist. But then we would have every villain personal justification, every ambition, every frustration or self-legitimity to act like they do. And actual viewer involvement in every character, good or bad. Side note...Are the critics score in any way actually useful? How many movies do we all watch where they will give it a low rating but the audience scores are very high. Or we simply like the movie anyway even if all scores are low. Or we actually dislike the movie when the Criritics score is super high. I personally just think critics scores are totally useless now days. I don't think they actually enjoy watching movies. Perhaps that what happens when something you enjoy becomes your job? If the reports are true that Sony will still continue the universe, it confirms that they’re just money laundering. 5:25 I'm calling cap and that part of their agreement with Marvel was to make this lie a public statement to not have Marvel blamed. We know for a fact that Madame Web was a Terminator film built around Spider-Man and that Marvel Studios had them redo the plot to take out any mention of Peter Parker and ensure the movie was about the 3 girls' future instead of these 3 + Web being the protectors ensuring Peter was born.

I would love to see Jared Leto, Dakota Johnson , and Aaron Taylor-Johnson have cameos in Secret Wars! I have yet yet to see Kraven, but I think Leto and Johnson played their characters well, they just didn’t have a script to reflect theirperformances.

They immediately killed any further movies about Spider-Man villains. Sony is the literall definition of INSANE!! They just tanked what, 3 or 4 huge failures??? Kevin Feige is sitting back and just waiting for that call from Sony with a huge grin on his face. He's probably celebrating that Sony simply can't compete with Marvel anymore at all in the comic book superhero genre. I would expect that Marvel is going to start developing Spider-Man movies under the Marvel banner. And it's about damn time!!!!

From what I've heard, the reason behind Garfield's dismissal from the Spider-Man role back in 2014 was because he failed to attend some studio event, upsetting Sony Japan CEO Kaz Hirai in the process.

What they could have done was have these movies with some of these villians (Venom and Kraven) but have them have them as the main focus instead of spiderman. Kind of like a flip in perspective where we normal follow the hero, follow the villian. This way we still get Spiderman, but the Villians backstory doesnt feel rushed and his motive makes more sense.

As far as I was concerned, each of these Spider-Man spinoffs was a good reason to be out in a 4DX theater, or ScreenX or IMAX 3D even if they aren't masterpieces. Rest in peace, I guess.

A different actor/actress will be back as an anti-hero or will see THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN vs KRAVEN, Rhino 🦏 & Chameleon 3) Movies like INFINITY WAR & ENDGAME & NO WAY HOME have proven that a SPIDER-GEDDON could start be built towards NOW , then see after DOOMSDAY & SECRET WARS , see who from MORBIUS, MADAME WEBB, KRAVEN & the VENOM TRILOGY as well as the 5 other SPIDER-MAN movies are willing and able to come back to fight Knull
