Bravo for James Gunn, finally we are getting a Superman that's not a piece of emotionless brick like Cavill , a Superman like C. Reeves who knows how to act and has feelings and emotions!. *Full disclosure: I HATE "Teaser" trailers because what I want from trailers is an idea of the story of the movie and teasers almost never give you that, but rather focus on **_Flashy visuals_** to get people wanting more (But then again, even full trailers nowadays avoid giving you any ideas of the story -Proof that **_storytelling_** is a lost art and that studios have no idea how to make movies anymore... But I digress!); so I am not gonna hold it against this trailer over others, even though it irks me to no end to have no ides of what the story is... That being said, I am intrigued by the fact that Superman starts off the teaser by being obviously bloodied (Even having **_INTERNAL bleeding!)_** after what must be some sort of battle:* *Superman is suppose to be (Or has most often been depicted as, at least in movies) nearly invulnerable... And that has always been the #1 problem with Superman: Couldn't even get a scratch, unless Kryptonite was around but then would find a way to avoid Kryptonite and was again invulnerable. Now I may be reading too much into this and he might just (Again) be that Kryptonite was involved for him to be injured but, knowing James Gunn's style: I think he might have been signaling that they ARE taking Superman's invulnerability down a peg or two and showing that while very resistant: Superman still CAN be hurt... Which would be an **_INCREDIBLY BOLD and risky move!..._** But I think I like it!!!* *Love the look as Clark Kent: The different hair and his mannerisms really sells the plausibility of the "secret identity" better than any previous iterations of Clark Kent/Superman.... Nicholas Hoult "looks" the part as Lex Luther, BUT to **_be_** a good Lex Luther is heavily dependent on the acting/speaking, so I'll withold judgement on that when we can judge his attitude more than just his appearance... Krypto **_looks BAD_** though! Again, I'll withhold judgement until the movie is fully finished, as the CGI might improve, but let's face it: He looks A LOT worse than Cosmo did in **_Guardians 3!_** Too cartoonish and fake looking. Movie makers need to go back to filming real, trained animals for movie: Only highlight facial features with CGI for dramatic effect and maybe animate an arm/paw/leg in some scenes to better sell attacks and such specific movements (Krypto jumping around Superman reminds me of the 2D animations from the WB Looney Toons and such: It is just no credible! No animal moves that way and it just doesn't covey that it is a physical creature with weight)* *All and all, it **_did_** manage to make me more curious about the movie (For which I had very little interest to begin with, TBH); so I guess that is a win for James Gunn, as far as my case is concerned, but we'll see what the first full trailer will have to offer (Hopefully more explanations as to what all those other Super-powered individuals are doing in the story and what the challenge to Superman is going to be, but there do seem to be A LOT of stuff happening in this one!)... The shot of Superman speeding in and protecting the kid from (what looked like) flying yellow canisters or something like that was SICK AF though!*
