Adam, you are correct. It was movie critic Rex Reed who walked in while Chris and Margot walked out. The crew member whose reflection we saw in the revolving door was that of director Dick Donner. He and writer Tom Mankiewicz laughed about that during the commentary of Superman: The Movie. The alley way where Clark and Lois are held up was at the Pinewood Studios in London. While they are walking down the streets of New York, you only see the robber's hand since it wasn't that of the actor who we see in the next angle in London. On a side note, Marc McClure (Jimmy Olsen) is one of the nicest celebrities I've ever met.

Oh boy, I love how flirty Margot Kidder is allowed to be here (with women's lib as the 70's backdrop) and how unintentionally campy the film is. Now THAT is a superhero film I'd actually watch in theatres -- Marvel, take note. She openly lusts for Clark while also being suspicious of him. She's a great character. I really wish her story in life had been different and that she had been treated much better. I knew folks who lived in Montana where she lived out her final years, and she gave out a ton of kids' books at Standing Rock. She was a kind and generous woman who I wish had gotten the trauma treatment that we have today, and she could have led a very different life. RIP Margot and Christopher Reeve.

I was 7 (2nd grade) when my parents took me to this movie in Jan of 79. I remember I couldn't wait to get inside the theater because it was so cold outside. This movie had a bigger impact on me than Star Wars, which my parents took me to at a drive-in theater in the summer of 78. I was exhilierated when I left the theater. I was so verwhelmed and had a frog in my throat. Incredible experience and had zero clue as to the fun I would have moving forward as we transitioned into the 80's.

Great video Adam! I had the privilege of working on Christopher Reeve's last project, The Brooke Ellison Story. I was the stand-in for John Slattery. Christopher Reeve was the director. He spent most of the time directing by using a loudspeaker from the production truck. I was a huge fan of his work as Superman when I was younger. He would call me by name when directing me for lighting and sound. I couldn't believe that Superman knew my name. He was awesome! Sadly, he passed away before the movie aired on television.

Saw this when it came out in 78' And it was instantly one of my favorite movies of all time, They did such a great job with everything, They didn't give in to parodying Superman and took it seriously and that's reflected in the film. One point: You said when the crowd was gathering watching the helicopter on the roof that the cops didn't push them back, believe me they did, saying " Alright everybody get back" several times. Watch it again.😂 Biggest laugh: When he 1st changes into his costume and the pimp says "say Jim that's a bad outfit" and he takes off flying up,got a huge laugh from everyone! Lots of good memories from seeing this movie in the theater. Nice job with the video too.

My favorite version of this movie is the complete 3 hour tv cut. Absolute masterpiece! Fun fact about that version: At exactly 1 hour and 0 seconds, it’s the final frame of Superman flying towards the screen out of the fortress of solitude (first appearance of Christopher Reeve). At the very next frame (exactly 1 hour and 1 second) it cuts to a shot of metropolis. So act 1 (the origin) ends at exactly 1 hour, and act 2 begins 1 second later. Coincidence or intentional?
