I like Henry Cavill, but if they had the technology they have now and you could bring back Christopher Reeves, all I can say is wow, because he had to act, not let technology do the speaking. The BEST of all the Superman movies. Warmth, charm and a sense of humor. Brilliant casting and music score. Christopher Reece defined the role and those who followed were just pretenders. The special effects did not go overboard, concentrating on the story and character relationships. It is THE gold standard.

@cooleye8887 No clue why you felt the need to shout. You acknowledge that for adults the love story is needed. That's why Donner and Mank made the Superman/Lois relationship so important: they knew that if they did that, the film would work for adults _and_ kids. Kids just wanna see Superman doing Superman things, and the film works on that level. But mature adults need for what Superman does to _actually mean something_ . . . and so they chose to focus on their relationship. Superman is _absolutely not_ just a kids movie. It has universal appeal, and that's the reason the film is remembered so lovingly today.
