That was insane!!! I came into this trailer kind of "meh" (not because of any of the things you mentioned when talking about the backlash) because I was like "Superman's story has been told soooooooo many f'n times, I just don't see the point." I am now absolutely hyped for it!!!! It's 2 minutes packed with the most mindblowing Nerdgasms ever!! I'm SO pumped for it now!!!

LET. JAMES GUNN. COOK. Listen, as an unapologetic fan of Man of Steel and of Henry Cavill's take on the character (he was truly done dirty by the former regime and Snyder to an extent), I'm hopeful to see what Gunn has up his sleeve, as well as how well David Corenswet does in the role. I cannot wait for next summer. P.S. Krypto plushies and merch are gonna sell gangbusters!

I am very hopeful for the new Superman (and DCU), and loved the trailer overall, but one thing that does worry me is the excessively large cast of heroes and villains. I mean we saw Guy, Mr. Terrific, Hawkgirl, Lex, Metamorpho, and they hinted at Brainiac with some of the background scenes. *Spoiler block in case some people haven't looked up the cast, and only know what they've seen from the trailer* We also have Maxwell Lord, The Engineer, Supergirl, and Rick Flag Sr... that is a *huge* cast for a 1st entry into a new universe. I'm hoping some of these are just quick cameos/nods that this Universe is full and lived in, and just a tease of what to look forward to in the future. But if they try to build all these characters too much in a Superman movie, I really fear it will detract from his story. Of course if they get the balance right, instead they could have Superman be the focal point of hope even for these other heroes, leading to the inevitable JL formation at a later (movie) date. (Then again, maybe the league already exists in this world, and that's why they show up to support Superman? Guess we'll see soon enough!)
