Fantastic Four will move off of that Summer date. They don't start filming until August, and it's going to be a massive CGI/special effects movie. 11 months is too short a turn around for them.

I understand that DC has been in shambles and Marvel tends to do better in general but with this conversation I think people forget, it's SUPERMAN. It's going to get so much attention because it's superman and not only that, the director/writer is the same guy who arguably made marvels best trilogy ever and phase 5's only successful film across the board. It's crazy what happened to the DCEU. Just having this discussion shows how they destroyed the DC brand not throwing shade on the F4 (I love them) but it's SUPERMAN. There should be no discussion over this. I believe if the Superman movie is good it will outperform everything but I have high hopes for the F4

The current generation of moviegoers have not been given a reason to care about superman. We live in a world where iron man and captain america are more popular than superman, which had never been the case before the mcu. The same can be said about the FF, but marvel has been an overall stronger brand than dc when it comes to movies as of late

Superman probably does better. More popular in general, a fresh reboot will probably pull more interest than the 30th marvel movie especially after the last several MCU projects, and fantastic four has been tried almost as many times as Superman already but with far less success. Still I hope both are good. Maybe it's rare to see two movies in a month but I'll see both of them a dozen times if they're great.

Not realistic. Man of Steel had stacked cast and did $650M. Cast in Superman Legacy has TV Actors so doubt it will beat MoS! Also james Gunn Suicide Squad did less than $200M

@@arankainth7192 MoS did 650M in 2013 !!! That was more than MORE than every marvel individual movie released until then, only the Avengers released the next year made more but being a team movie. The main cast of Superman Legacy looks perfect for the characters but the internet is full of people explaining that Pedro Pascal looks nothing like Mr. Fantastic and is similar bad casting for the rest of the team. We will have to see them act in the roles but that will be in the first trailers. Also Suicide Squad was released free on HBO Max the same day, not like the THEATER ONLY marvel movie called Madame Web that does the impossible and shows that the can be a worst movie than The Marvels.

I think DC still has more to prove as a brand to general audiences than Marvel does, weird as that may seem given Marvel’s recent let-downs. I’d go with Fantastic Four to have a better opening. Also, I think the FF cast has a bit more drawing power as of right now. Either way, I just think it’s cool to have two ginormous properties releasing so close to each other. Superman and FF are basically the OGs when it comes to DC and Marvel as comic universes. Hopefully they’re both great and 2025 will be remembered as the rebirth of comic book movies!

Assuming they’re both great I would say that Superman: Legacy will do better, mainly due to the fact that Superman has more recognition with the general audience than Fantastic Four, Fantastic Four I think is a tad more niche than Superman, at least when talking about us movie/comic book fans vs the general audience, and so if they’re both really good I think Superman: Legacy could end up being a smash hit, in terms of their brand’s reputation in the last number of years both movies definitely have a lot to prove but I think both of them, Superman: Legacy in particular could end up being huge runaway hits at the box office if they’re done right, and so I would lean more towards Superman: Legacy

We win. Because seeing a course correction in both camps is really needed. Granted one is a reboot, but I think the Fantastic 4 has a great chance to be the catalyst Captain Marvel was supposed to be into the next chapter of the MCU. I did wonder though if before Jon Watts left the Fantastic 4 movie, if spiderman was going to be a predominant appearance. I still think its possible that Stark Tower was bought by the Baxter family.

I think Marvel and DC trying to compete with each other is a mistake. It's self-sabotage for both of them. DC's success is good for Marvel and Marvel's success is good for DC, so it would be best for both of them not to make people who can't/won't/don't go to the theater twice in one month choose one or the other at such a crucial moment. Maybe I'm underestimating what a lot of people can fit in their personal/family budgets and schedules, but it seems like a mistake to me. Both of these movies have a lot to prove. But I guess Thunderbolts would be more screwed going up "against" Superman, since it's an unfamiliar title to most people.

I'm more of a DC fan. But if I feel there's a Marvel project that I'm interested in, I will give it a chance. I own some Marvel films like Spider-Man (Toby Maguire Trilogy), 2008's The Incredible Hulk, The Punisher from 1989, Ghost Rider with Nicholas Cage, and Marvel Studios Ant-Man. I even liked The earlier Fantastic Four and Blade films. So will I give the new Fantastic Four a chance and not just Superman Legecy and The Batman 2? Sure, why not.

It's going to be close. Impossible to say without seeing any promo footage of either movie. If we're assuming both movies are good to great... it's still a tough call to make. I think Superman might ever so slightly beat F4. Legacy is going to be a weird, wild movie. I think it's going to introduce a lot of plot threads and show plenty of action that people are going to want to see unfold on the big screen. F4 could be really good, depending on if Marvel Studios is truly learning the lessons they claim they are. I think it's going to have a strong opening weekend, but then at a pretty steady pace, lose 60+% on the forthcoming weekends. Disney has unfortunately conditioned its fans to see movies 0-1 times in theaters due to quick D+ turnarounds.

Dnt understand the side picking in these movies. Both companies have great characters & as a movie fan/comic fan, we should all root for all the movies to be great. At the same time, too many fans want these unwarranted comedic scenes that I felt DC tried to stay away from. Also, their dark tone was so good, I am shocked DCEU failed. If James Gunn tells a fun, fresh Superman story, Superman: Legacy should do just as good if not better than the Fantastic 4 b/c I liked the Fantastic 4 movies, but the 3 Fantastic 4 movie just felt like the storyline repeated over and over again! I think that has hindered the DCEU Superman too b/c it just felt like the same old story on a loop! How many times will we get Superman vs Zod or Superman vs Lex Luthor? When we finally got Superman vs Dooms Day or Darkseid, it was over with before it got started! So, if Gunn simply gives us a good new, interesting Superman story that will capture a broader audience who will come back again he will have something there!!!

I'm just giving you examples of the many superpowered villains that the DCU has on the roster that can be the enemy! People have complained that the problem with Superman is that he's too much of a superpowered being to have a good villain but I just named a few! An Apex Lex Luthor with a superpowered battle suit is another variation. The Authority poses a group of interesting superhuman antagonists that can make for a good story of comparison and contrasting morals and strategies!
