It's absolutely beautiful on tap in Majorca and is 4.7/4.8 %.

I'd rather have a cup of tea than a 3.4% lager.

lower abv lagers are taking off at the minute. for the brewers it's a massive tax dodge on lower abv products (see also 0% beer, which they make a mint off) but also the consumer base seems to be enjoying a lighter lager that doesn't blow one's nipples off. We sell this at my bar and its a firm favourite with men, but more women than men usually. We also stock the brewdog cold beer and that's flying out as well also which I like as its very neckable/very crisp when freezing cold. I like low abv for sessions when they rarely occur, but I prefer a stronger tasting and higher abv usually.

I love you and your reviews (not in the biblical sense of course), but as I started my drinking in the 70's, Lager was a ladies drink of choice (alongside Babycham and white wine). So I have never bothered with the stuff. Over the past few years this view has changed due to my growing global awareness of beer styles. I now love Oktoberfest and I am not constricted by late 20th century predudice. It doesnt bother me that this is 3.4%. If it hits the spot, rock on. So thanks to your review, some lucky retailer will get my coin. Cheers Ginge!

Thank you buddy. It’s always good when people expand their drinking tastes. Life’s too short to drink one type of beer I think. Appreciate you watching mate 🍻

It's tax reasons but brought theses on the cheap £9 for 10 I'm impressed with it
The Stella unfiltered is certainly better than the standard stuff. I tried the Staropramen unfiltered at the weekend . Not too bad...

Good review Paul. I will never buy it at 3.4%, ever.

Dumbing down of beer is a real problem in the UK. I would much rather have a minimum price point for alcohol which would discourage stuff like 'white lightening' cider than drink bad beer. I think offering tax breaks for low ABV misses the point. Quality over quantity is the way ahead, cheers Paul.
@paulsbeerreviews4 ай бұрын
Absolutely buddy. Quality should always be the way forward. Unfortunately though in reality, Profit is the way forward and these companies / Brewers aren’t interested in creativity or brewing excellent beer. It’s about brewing cheap beer that they can brand and market well and make massive profit. Very frustrating

I wonder how long it will be before Estrella Damm is brewed only in Bedford and becomes the latest UK brewed "fake foreign lager". I deeply dislike these pretend foreign lagers. I'd rather drink Tennents Light for a 3.4% lager as its a genuine British lager and a lot better then most lagers of that strength. But given this review I might try this one as I like drinking lower abv lagers in summer. By the way COYS for the new season!! About to watch the Leicester game on TV.
@paulsbeerreviews4 ай бұрын
Yeah I think it’s inevitably going to be contract brewed at the Bedford site at the lesser abv. Just a bit depressing really. Not the result we wanted tonight but some good moments particularly in that first half. On to the next one. COYS!

@@paulsbeerreviews Yes it was a disappointing game which we should have won. Let's hope we win against Everton on Saturday. Look forward to the next beer review!
