fun fact: the first time someone sued McDonalds for spilling coffee on them had to get skin replacement surgery because before the person sued, McDonalds heat their coffee to over 100 degrees. But yes, most other times people sued them it was fake

In Law class in high school I did a case study on that situation and the teacher supervising me thought it was a ridiculous suit until I told him about the skin grafting details. He changed his mind pretty quick. Crazy how easy it was for that poor woman's story to be spun so wrong.
@honeyheybeebee7 жыл бұрын
The story about the McDonalds coffee being too hot is actually really sad because this really old elderly woman spilled the coffee on herself right after getting it and had to go to the hospital for third degree burns. She had to get skin graphing as well.

KittyFromMars i think its sad because people joke about that when it was an actual problem.

@mattgrande17554 жыл бұрын
And so many people had already complained about the heat and got hurt before that. It’s sad that not only people joke about it and are mislead, but working at McDonalds, the lawyers and owners of McDonalds brainwashed the workforce, including Matt into thinking that the poor woman was being petty and money-hungry over some “temperate” coffee that was actually scorching.

Also, I love the podcasts for the weird jokes, because they are so weird on so many grounds that I am pretty sure any person of any age would be able to get them and laugh their arse off. The best way to help that feeling you're having Ryan is to just promote smaller channels in subtle ways; bottom of your description, displaying fan art at the video outro with a channel link annotation (or other art like music), etc. It may seem feeble but it can breathe life into the dead crinkled state that some people exist in after working hard on something with no recognition.

I'm loving these podcasts. Hearing your thoughts on things is really interesting, and I find myself agreeing with how you guys feel on most things. I completely agree with Matt's stance on dating and marriage. I've had a few friends who married after dating someone for barely a year or sometimes less, and it's frustrating to see them make that kind of decision when I know that they aren't looking at the relationship with the right mindset. I want them to be happy, of course, but I also want them to be smart and not make a decision that they will regret for the rest of their life.

The hot coffee thing is a really shitty situation, McDonalds made the story seem as if the old lady who spilled it on her was in the wrong and that she was driving when it was in her lap, but actually the coffee gave her 3rd degree burns and she was sitting in the parking lot, so not only did they make up the fact she was driving when drinking but they made this lady out to be an asshole who sued them for a very minor reason, in fact all she wanted was for McDonald to pay off the hospital bill and when they wouldn't, she sued because she couldn't afford it. It really shows you how fucked up the media can twist a story. Look it up, it's really easy to debunk it.

Never have I hated people more than when I got a job collecting carts. There are people who would straight up leave full gallon sized trash bags in the carts for us to throw. REGULARLY. The worst were the last minute customers that would park at the very end of the parking lot when there are plenty of spaces near the store and leave a cart at the farthest point. Not only are you making us suffer having to go to the farthest part of the lot at midnight to collect a single cart, but you're also making yourself suffer by having to needlessly walk the long distance when you could've just parked in the dozens of empty spaces near the entrance. >:[

Crazy story about poop on a restroom wall: My mom used to work at a community care facility (where elderly and sometimes younger people go when they can't take care of themselves because of mental illness, they have no family, etc.) and there was this one man named Mike. He was a sweet old man but couldn't really talk because he had a lot of strokes and health problems. But when he got mad, you could hear him clearly, like there was nothing wrong with him. So one day, my brothers and I were there and we had to go to the washroom. We went to the closest one, and there was poop EVERYWHERE. On the walls, on the toilet, on the floor. Poop. It was Mike. My mom told us after that when he gets mad, he does that kind of stuff sometimes to "get back at the staff members" Nice story, right?
