Supernanny Jo Frost meets the child who already has 4 fillings from sugary snacks.
Jo Frost focuses on two girls in trouble. Kiran is a four year old girl who has only ever eaten sweets. She wears the clothes of a one year old and is falling behind in almost aspect of development.
In desperation, Mum Sophia has started to force feed her child.
For Jo, this is one of the most shocking things she has seen in twenty years of childcare. Jo also meets twelve year old Bronwyn, a girl who hates her appearance so much it is seriously impacting on her life. Bronwyn cries daily about the way she looks and harshly compares herself to celebrities in magazines.
She now refuses to leave the house without spending two hours getting dressed and putting on makeup. Mum Emma has no idea how to cope.
Turning her attention to the boys, in this week’s big event, Jo wants to know once and for all if violent computer games have an effect on a game player’s behaviour. And she’s going to give parents some practical advice on how to keep computer gaming under control.

I honestly see where the "spoiled" girl is coming from. Notice how nobody asked why she was acting the way she was. Nobody accounted for the fact that her sass was coming from genuine emotion. She mentioned that when her mother took her toys, she just hadn't wanted to hug her mother, & was punished for it. I think the mom punished too harshly too fast. She could have at least let her have one teddy. If I had something I liked taken I would be angry too, I wouldn't magically be happier & magically listen. That's what teddies are for, happiness, & the mom took all of them at once. I think the mom didn't limit herself with what she bought for her daughter, & now the daughter is being punished because the mother didn't set boundaries early enough. For those who don't agree, imagine this: You get to do whatever you want for 8 years! If you want something, you get it! You don't have to do any work! You have free reign! And then all of a sudden, you have all these rules & you have to do all these chores & all of the things that bring you joy are ripped away! You'd be upset, right!? Then KEEP imagining that the people ripping away your favorite things & freedom then get MAD AT YOU FOR BEING UPSET ABOUT IT! That's what Madison is going through in this video.

I agree with you totally there It would take an adjustment period from no rules to suddenly having rules. I also feel sorry for the older girl she seems so lovely and quiet. If I got treated the way Maddie's Mom treats her, I'd do more than sassing her off. Literally what? She can give the most normal replies and her Mom starts purposely riling her up, asking if she's giving attitude, then saying she's sassing off... Maddie's literally doing what she's asked, young children shouldn't be expected to be some emotionless robot. If you want that, get a doll. The way her mom's treating her DURING the "fixing everything" phase is absolute emotional abuse. Imagine if someone screamed "Why are you being bad??" every time you stopped smiling.

Oh my God I am so upset by this woman, and Jo was barely there, didn't see what was going on, and told this mom to carry on and hold strong!!! I think pageants for children are the most perverse things. Children should be and LOOK like children, not dolled up mini sex objects. They have time for all that when they are in their teens. What made me laugh was to see the parents being told to get their kids do household chores. I had a social worker berating me for telling my 8 yo son to take the rubbish bag on his way out: I was demanding too much from him! Since then, my kids believed helping with chores was child labour and I was doing that just to avoid my parental duty to rake care of them. (I had social services assessing what help my other, autistic, son needed.) The irony is that my now 30 yo son accused me just the other week for not teaching any life skills! Today's parents just can't win. Now I live in a shared household with three adults in their 20s. They can barely cook and when they do, they either leave everything where they last used them and later dump a pile of crockery with food crusted on them in the sink, although there is an empty dishwasher right next to it: they expect the owner to tidy up and clean after them. It has been requested many times that each person will empty the hair trap after themselves but it is only the older ones that do it... There's a frequent turnover of young adults and they are all the same, so clearly it is the attitude of the SOCIETY at large that encourages 20 - 30 year-old children incapable of taking responsibility of themselves... So many young people are simply perpetually broke despite having a job because they don't know how to budget; some go on borrowing money from others for years, feeling like they are the victims, blaming their parents and bosses for not bailing them out (I've heard it myself) but never asking for help to get in control of things... I'm talking about gen Z, of course, the ones my generation spoiled because we were not supposed to do parenting the same way our parents did. (Modern life, progress and so on.) Kids in the 50s played on the streets while adults got a bit of peace and quiet, but consider the traffic today. Would you let your kids play on the streets now? On my street the traffic has risen 200% in 20 years and the number of cars is doubling every year despite restrictions of the number of cars per house. (So I cannot own a car even though it meant having to give up my job.) Green spaces and play areas are also woefully limited. Is that also the parents fault? I'm not saying that letting a child play computer games or sit in front of the TV hours on end is justified, but I co understand the temptation of both sides. I did not have my own space to escape my parents, grandparents or brothers quarreling but being outside in the cold and dark until bedtime was not possible: So, I escaped into the world of books, not hearing or seeing anything that hapoened around me. It was my safe space.

They all stopped, leaned over to pick up the shuttle, and kind of stutter stepped to get moving. I remember going into a lunge to grab the shuttle, which gave me positioning to turn into a sprinter start back. It probably saved about a second or two over what the kids in this test did.

It's more this - Jo's advice simply encouraged the mom to go "mask off". That mom was always abusive to her kid, only she papered over that with extreme spoiling - but only in the material setting, never in terms of actual love. The minute that veneer was stripped of, Mommy Dearest's true nature was revealed. It's not like the closest thing to "spoiled brats" in my own family, where it's clear the mom and dad also had actual love to offer, and also offered guidance in addition to the expensive toys. Which means that their kids, while sheltered, didn't make a habit of throwing tantrums to get their way, were able to interact with other people like normal human beings (and also were capable of listening to someone else talk about hard issues without immediately shutting down), and grew up to be reasonably well-adjusted adults who do the best they can for their families. Actual love, and guidance, can make a real difference - yes, even when the kid gets a million expensive toys as part of the package deal, as well as when they don't.

I played a lot of games too when I was a kid and I never ate while sitting in front of the computer (only sometimes when I was home all by myself and I didn't have anyone to talk to in the kitchen) and I also didn't sit in front of the computer all the time. I played games and watched shows for a few hours then studied for a few hours and then by 3-4pm my friends were waiting at the gate and we were gone until 6pm during winter and until 8-9pm during summer.

@@az639 its a different generation we live in for sure. I know some people that let kids watch youtube on their phone as young as 2 yr old. Drives me crazy to see that. I feel like the child should be looking at books, or talking with the parent, singing songs or things like that. Children are being allowed to have cellphones so young, and they don't learn the value of money and time.

Kids are taught there are no losers in sports which I think takes the competitive edge away. They know they don't have to try has hard and still get praise for it.

The "competitive edge" is exactly why so many adults are terrified to ever try new things. They were taught as kids that the worst possible thing was failure. All you're teaching kids to do is never try. Participation is encouraged in children for a reason, Karen. ffs. Because it's developmentally appropriate. Have you ever met small children?

Where is the father to these kids? Why do I see sho many single mothers in shows about England? Where are the fathers? Stop having kids if you haven’t any help.

I had three. The oldest was seriously so good, she was perfect. The second girl and my son, well, one look from me they knew they were in trouble I cannot tolerate rude, abusive children.

The boy with the video game problem it’s very simple, take away the keyboard at night and other times you don’t want him on it, lock it up someplace. My partners parents did that to him when he was a kid.

I can’t really remember but my mom made our WiFi shut down after a set time and she had something on my Pc that made turn of after an hour beyond that (11 lol). At some point she got got me two less noisy coolers and removed all that stuff cause she didn’t want me to be out drinking or meeting people 😁

I guess I am old school, my girls would never act like any of these children, they know how I would react to their negative stuff.
