If a child doesn't want to eat what they are given to eat, just don't force them, because maybe there were episodes that forced children to eat food that they wouldn't want to put in their mouths or food that they are allergic to, because otherwise, until the age of adolescence, the children could commit suicide And put an end to their lives by jumping from a high height until they die!!!

Children having tantrums is an important part of their developmental stage and emotional expression. Yes, it’s important to curb that behavior as they grow but 3 and 2 year olds shouldn’t be made to feel unloved for doing so. This is why her tactics work - she makes sure to include love and understanding with her discipline.

Toddlers also learn manipulation, if they get certain rewards after certain behaviors then they continue that pattern. My 2 year old knows what she can get away with between my husband and I. It’s up to the parents to set the guidelines and expectations and this is out of love. This is so our kids can grow up and become functioning adults who can control and work through emotions.

@@tamarakennedy4976 That's very gross of you to say. Many men do help..it's no fault of our own that one parent has to spend basically all day at work to make ends meet. It's just the way our society is..if both parents could be home raising their children together..both would equally contribute. Many men do hurt that they miss out on a lot while they're stuck in a job all day. @I have no name well by then they have hobbies and other interests you can hold back from them. My kids would always snap to it when they no longer had a video game they loved. For my daughter it was the phone. When she was 8 years old we had to put her in a submission hold once! She decided that she never wanted that to happen again. However submission holds should only ever be used when a child is a danger to themselves or others. She was throwing bookcases. So we HAD to put a stop to that.

I'm wondering if the timeout method is still being used? The one where there's a "time-out corner/ chair" for when a child misbehaves? Does anybody know or has anyone seen a clip of it being used in 2019/ 2020? 🤔
@Supersoccerchic3 жыл бұрын
Believe me, time-outs do work and the people who say it doesn't work don't do it effectively. It's like with the Busby's. They say time-outs don't work but it does work. They just didn't do it effectively or even the right way for their six girls. Time-outs do work if used correctly. Children learn from a little bit of fear because then, they will stay in that corner, room, whatever else.

my question is, how are parents supposed to know these skills? I don’t think it’s common sense. When a child cries and screams, I would think they want to pacify them. I’m not sure and I’m not a mom and never could be nor wanted to. Joe is incredible
@Tranquility323 ай бұрын
Hello. I get it, as no one wants to see a baby or child cry. And sometimes the first response in our hearts IS to pacify and soothe. Yet a “bratty” type outburst, one where they are not getting their way or doing whatever they want, needs to be confronted and corrected. There’s nothing wrong with setting boundaries and expectations for even very small children. It’s what they need. Otherwise, the flip side of all that coddling would be the kids running the house, misbehaving and controlling the parents. And we see from the full catalog of Supernanny videos how well that does not work. As for learning the skills, how awesome it is that they can, if they appreciate Jo’s techniques, replay these programs until Mom & Dad are comfortable. Take care!
