Fun fact: The female cop was in a previous episode of SPN. In the episode "There Will Be Blood" she was the girl that the Alpha Vamp had stashed in a room, and then it was revealed that she is one of his minions.

minor thing I love that Cas is more worried about Dean then himself and I love that Dean is worried about Cas and not himself. And I love the brothers taking equal amounts of the blame for this (Wish some in the fandom could do that)

The scene where Sam goes "When did we forget how to do this", "Hunting things is only half of the bumper sticker" is one of my favourites. As someone who didn't like the last two seasons, Season 11 has always felt like something of a course correction to me, and this scene was the first indication of that.

Great first start to a season. I might be wring but the last time a whole town was effected by the Supernatural was the episode with the Horsemen of War back in season 5. I also love it for setting up Sam's own personal arc that for the first time in 2 seasons has nothing to do with Dean.

You are absolutely correct. From the last couple of seasons we were familiar with the feeling that the brothers are always safe and those gave different vibes. Season 11 gives totally different vibe, it just feels good.

It's Croatoan on steroids! Also, Crowley proves again that he's the consummate survivor, willing to run when he needs to. Also, Castiel doing everything he can to avoid harming innocents: he could have taken every round those three men fired at him, but with the effects of Rowena's curse, he would have lost control and ripped them apart, so he dodged every single one. Get strapped in, because this season is gonna be nuts!

I love this season so much.. I will have to hold back the gushing. Did you recognize the girl cop from an earlier episode? She was the alpha vampire's kept girl a coupla seasons back. Loved lady Crowley... who was also a character back in season 4.. wife of a victim in It's the Great Pumpkin Sam Winchester.

I think there is a bad line in this episode, Sam claims these people who are infected, are not human when in fact they are human, just infected with the darkness which is controlling them
