They can't leave Sam without his soul, because he's just shown that souless Sam is perfectly willing to kill an innocent. And not just an innocent, but the person he considers his 'father'. If he's capable of doing that, when else will he be willing to kill an innocent. Any one who gets in his way is fair game.

Yeah the one thing that they are missing is that a person with no emotions only complies when they get exactly what they want. Once they don’t it’s a whole different story and a whole different person. There no telling what that could turn into if he stays like that. If he’s willing to murder bobby then he could become a serial killer in the right circumstances. So both choices are equally fucked
@yearofdiscontent49362 жыл бұрын
When he was talking to Dean earlier, he told him outright that he hurt innocent people to get the job done. At some point he would become a thing that Dean would need to kill or other hunters would. Remaining soulless puts a lot of people at risk, cramming Sam's soul back only puts Sam at risk and adding to Dean's guilt.

The “doctor” that Dean goes to see that flatlines him, is Robert Englund, Freddy Krueger. I really liked this episode, what Death says about the human soul and what it’s capable of and it’s resilience, really puts it into light how badly Sam needs it back. This was what I was talking about with Sam NEEDING his soul back. Bobby has been like a father to him, and he wasn’t thinking twice about killing him, the chance, though a big one, has to be taken, because this Sam is not the Sam we know. When Davion said Dean is hard headed, Deans my guy, not just for obvious reasons, but I see things about me that are the same. He’s extremely hard headed, stubborn, impulsive, act now think later, the pros always outweigh the cons, so I get frustrated with his choices a lot, but I understand him, so when people say Dean is a “simplistic character”, not at all, they need to rewatch because Dean Winchester is one of the most multilayered characters there’s been.
@mizixy96242 жыл бұрын
I guess the only other realistic option to not giving Sam’s soul is to kill Sam. I only say that because as many others have mentioned, soulless Sam is willing to actively kill an innocent person to serve his own purposes. Luckily, Bobby was able to fight back, but what if some other innocent person was in Sam’s way? They probably wouldn’t stand a chance.

17:51, Davion.. this situation right here is why Sam needed his soul back asap.. because he didn’t think twice about killing someone who he has thought of as a father.. someone who has been a better father to him than his own biological dad.. and if he can do this without his soul, one shudders to think about what else he could do.. what he is doing right here should shut down any argument saying he should’ve had a choice whether or not he got his soul back…

I agree with Nathan. Death and anybody else getting mad at Sam and Dean for messing up the natural order when it isn't even their fault makes no sense. The only time they've probably had a hand in messing up the natural order is when Dean sold his soul to bring Sam back in season 2 and he might not even be to blame for that, but I can't say why because that's a spoiler. All the other times was out of their hands. Anyway, I never understood why fans come down hard on Dean for not getting Adam when he clearly tried to right here. And let's be real, when Death made him choose between Adam or Sam's soul, did you really think that Dean was going to choose the brother that he barely knew over the brother he practically raised? Sam was about to kill Bobby and y'all talking about he should remain soulless? What type of psychopath, sociopath s**t is that? And yes, Sam's soul is beyond repair, but as I said on the previous reaction, everybody needs their soul. It's important. Dean and Death's conversation...wow. As much as Dean felt like the whole deal was rigged, which it wasn't, I do think Death expected Dean to not only not last a day as him but make the choices that he made. Death, if I'm not mistaken, doesn't have a soul, but Dean as a human does; therefore, most of his choices were based off of emotion. And it's easy being on the outside looking in and saying that you would've done your job and not did what Dean did, but I doubt it. Unless, you have no soul. Also, I think Death has taken a liking to Dean because he came off as a father teaching his son a lesson versus when we first met him, and he came off more menacing. He also still went to get Sam's soul, despite Dean getting smart mouthed with him.

I think the problem that fans have is not that dean didn't choose adam but once he got sam out he never tried to get adam out and forgot about him.
@TBFC19852 жыл бұрын
@@pillowboy7995 Spoiler Alert!!! No, I've seen fans say that Dean never tried at all to get Adam out and this episode proves that's a lie. In regard to what you're saying, maybe Dean didn't try again because he didn't think there was any other way to get him out. And tell me, between the wall breaking in Sam's head; the Leviathans; Dean going to and coming back from Purgatory; Dean dealing with the MOC; Dean becoming a demon; the Darkness a.k.a Amara; the BMOL; Jack being born; Dean getting possessed by AU Michael; and God a.k.a Chuck not being on their side anymore where Dean would've had time to think about Adam? And although Adam was mentioned in season 10, episode 5 "Fan Fiction," I'm sure both Sam and Dean thought that there was no hope of getting Adam since about 4 or 5 years had passed at that point and, if I'm not mistaken, there were rumors that Michael was out of his mind. So, I don't get why Dean gets the blame solely placed at his feet when Sam never tried to get Adam out or never thought about him either.

Remember the rules that Tessa taught Dean in this episode - that only Death can kill, reapers don't kill, they just take the soul on to its destination after Death killed them. Remember these rules, because the writers won't! lol Nathan is correct. Death was just Death, until Lucifer summoned him to Missouri and put the leash on him with the spell. Dean should've died the first time in Season 1, with the heart problems (Faith). The blind pastor thought he was doing good - it was his wife that was pulling the reaper's strings, which is why the reaper took her at the end when he was off the leash.

I don't know why Death is giving Dean a hard time about coming back to life. When Dean died at the end of season 3, the only reason he came back was because Castiel brought him back. Sam tried to make deals, but no one would do it; Sam clearly makes that point. Then after Sam dies by jumping into the pit, it was Cass that brought him back....again, deals were made by Dean, but no one would listen. Then when Sam and Dean are both shot and killed, it was Joshua that sent them back....no deals were made to bring them back; they had no say in coming back to life. If Death and that reaper want to blame anyone, then put it on the angels who keep bringing them back. It's not Sam and Dean who are, "messing up the natural order." Yet Death wants to put all the blame on them. I would think Death would be a little bit smarter than that.

That's not Sam anymore though? He's a murderous, unfeeling, robotic sociopath who was just about to kill the closest thing to a father he has with no remorse. I'm half convinced he wasn't even feeling scared when he was begging and just worried they'd mess with his efficiency. He kinda loses his rights to choose whether he has a soul or not when souless Sam is an active danger to everyone around him. Being a Sam Stan is great (he's an awesome character), but acting like it's okay for him to want to be souless is so unhealthy and toxic that it makes it seem like people saying that don't actually like Sam as a character.

Sam and Dean are pretty much that little girl but still living. They are constantly surrounded by people dying. Granted them coming back to life hasn’t always been their choice as we learnt angels and demons kept bringing them back. I however think that while there are some deaths determined by fate/destiny some things happen that fate cannot have a say in. Especially if free will is in play. Take a cancer patient who finds out they are cancer free but then as they are headed home they get hit by a car. Was cancer this person’s death or the car? Look at catastrophic events sometimes those just are not destiny not planned just happens. To me Tessa’s Death has a list is order and the unnatural deaths are chaos. And you can’t have one without the other. Maybe that nurse was supposed to die and while she may have been surrounded by death the kid may have been meant to live.

How is soulless sam better than the alternative?!? They literally showed in this episode that soulless sam is willing to kill a man that is like a father to him. Who knows who else he would be willing to kill because he has no soul, no morals, no heart!?! Plus sam's soul and heart is what makes him sam. So should dean be okay with a soulless killing machine all the while knowing that his brother's soul is getting tortured for eternity. How is that in any way better than the alternative!?
@audreyii67502 жыл бұрын
Soulless!Sam isn't a killing machine? He literally hasn't killed a SINGLE person in the 11 episodes he's been in so far? The Bobby bit could basically be seen as self defense. He isn't killing him for kicks, but because him & Bobby won't take *no* for an answer If someone was going to perform risky surgery on me "for my own good" even _after_ I explicitly said I don't consent, you can BET I'd get violent if they tried to force it on me anyways
@iamlinda1002 жыл бұрын
@@audreyii6750 so does that mean you would be willing to kill innocent people just to get what you want? Because that is what being soulless means, when you have no soul, you have no morals, no feelings and don't care about anyone and you would do anything to get what you want including killing innocent people without feeling any remorse. Soulless Sam proved that he was willing to kill Bobby who is like a father to him, that was not self-defense, that was attempted murder. if he was willing to kill Bobby he would be willing to kill any innocent person just to get what he wanted. Soulless Sam even told Dean in an earlier ep that he would hurt innocent people just to get the job done, soulless Sam is not Sam anymore, he needs his soul otherwise he is just an emotionless robot with no morals and willing to kill innocent people if it meant getting what he wanted. Dean and Bobby understands this that's why they were so desperate to get his soul back, it was for his own good, because Sam without a soul is a danger to everyone around him.

@@iamlinda100 Sam kills exactly *one* innocent person in all of s6 (the bar lady) He also _tries_ to kill Samuel (AFTER Dean does, so he's just following his lead) And Bobby, who (along with Dean) was going to _force_ something onto Sam, something he had _Repeatedly_ said he Did Not Want. That is self defense. You don't get to choose what's best for someone else. They take away Sam's bodily autonomy & literally Strap Him Down & shove his soul back in while he _screams & begs_ for them not to. At that point Sam trying to kill Bobby IS self defense. He's trying to protect himself. And that's Not what being soulless means. I don't think that it's about Sam's soullessness not being what Dean wants. And Soulless-Sam is more than just some lifeless vessel. Without a soul he has no compassion and no humanity. He would murder his own brother, let alone Bobby, if he felt like it. Dean and Sam are partners when they hunt. Dean has to be able to trust Sam with his life, not to mention the lives of the people they save. How can he trust someone that does not care if anyone but themselves lives or dies. Oh, and if I were you, Cameron, I would definitely question God and why He wanted them back all those times... and maybe keep that question in your minds until the last season. Just a thought...
