while the writers may have written Dean's speech to God, Jensen was the one to come up with the tone of it. They originally wanted Dean to be angry and for it to be more of a rant but Jensen knew that wouldn't work and went for this more deep almost heartbreaking speech. And in a way God was like John, in a sense of someone Dean had faith in but never shared anything with him.

I love Rob Benedict. He is just a brilliant actor and him playing off of Sam, Dean and Lucifer is great, because it's also Jared, Jensen and Misha... the actors we most know and they all really get to show so many different layers.

I do think that was more Jensen than Dean when he did his speech to Chuck about his absence in the face of human suffering. Jensen comes from a religious background and it seemed quite heart felt. Dean would more rant. As to Sam braking, I would think it akin to him running into a brick wall than running Amara down. They would come off second best.

Curtis Armstrong was magnificent as Metatron. RIP. Dean's conversation with Chuck is the same one I think we all would have with him.

ive heard others say just run amara over but im pretty sure that would be like running into a cosmic steel pole that would destroy baby. your idea of having her stop baby telekinetically is much better.

This ep has so much going on, except for Sam. He just babbles like a silly fangirl around God, and thinks about asking why planets are round. Sure, it seems cute and funny, but that's what he's been reduced to. In the first half of the season, he prayed, thinking it was God reaching out to him. Then he finds out its Lucifer, and Cas takes over that storyline and becomes Casifer. Dean has his connection with Amara. Sam is left with nothing, no storyline at all. Of all the people there, he had the most faith in God. But now, instead of being the intelligent person he is, he has nothing of importance to say to God. Instead, Dean is the one who asks the good questions, who has a response that makes sense.

Another phenomenal episode. That Misha sure can scream huh. Robby's doing a great job as God.. though I was so hoping, for several seasons, that they cast Betty White RIP.. that she got frustrated with humans and decided to spend most of her time with animals over the rainbow bridge.. and finally cleared up what "the Colonel" was telling Dean about what dogs were really here for.. instead of man's best friend. A bunker full of puppies would have been hysterical. Amara became my favorite new character of season 11 when she took out Metadoucheatron. Since you brought up space, there's a channel I think you'd like, not for reactions though.. The Why Files. Hecklefish is the sidekick.. good stuff. Space.. Aliens, but also some fun tin foil hat stuff. My thoughts on what we call aliens.. been here all along.. considers humans part of the eco system.. just another critter species on the planet.
