Fun fact about the concrete wall, the writers didn't think about goggles until J2 swung the sledgehammers for the first time and got dust and chips everywhere and J2 adlibbed "Goggles". Also, they kept having to put up new concrete slabs because Jensen and Jared were just straight up murdering their way through them.

Dean's monologue, one of the shows best scenes!!! and you're right, Jensen really shines in those emotional moments. I do wish the bmol fight wasn't intercut with it tho, they should have let the entire scene play out because the change of emotion between scenes is jarring.

Dean’s speech to Mary of him just laying down all his grievances against but also forgiving her is just perfect and heartbreaking

5:00 fun fact, this part right here wasn’t scripted.. this is an actual concrete wall that they are trying to bash through, so when Jensen hits the wall, he actually gets a face full of broken concrete that cut his face a bit and got in his eyes.. him saying “Goggles?” Followed by Jared saying “Goggles..” wasn’t scripted, but they loved it so much, they kept it in.. 😂

Fun fact the actress who played that lady in charge of the British men of Letters is all the way back from season 1 where she played the mother to Julie Benz's character Layla. Layla was the woman with the brain tumor where people were being healed by a faith healer. In the end she wasn't cured and more than likely died of her condition months later.

How I feel about the BMOL storyline is almost the same as how I felt about the S7 leviathan - there are no personal attachments from the main villain/the big bad. Personal here means the connection between the Winchesters to the season's big bad, until (for the BMOL) Mary made contact with them. So I just kinda feel, meh ... (to clarify - personal to the Winchesters as in the Azazel and the Lucifer 'closeness' kind of it all). On the other hand, they (BMOL) do contribute to lots of good episodic feel and underlying threats to our heroes throughout the season as compared to S7 leviathans, whose threats kinda disappeared in the middle of the season. So this elevates S12 from the former season for me.

fun fact, they had jared and jensen really hitting a cement wall and after the first hit they really did realize they needed goggles so then props had to find some that would look like they would have been in the bunker. also those boys totally went at that wall and went further into it than they were supposed to. Jensen especially loves when he gets to do stuff like really hitting or smashing something.

That scene between Dean and Mary made me forgive alot in this season.

Whoa boy, that scene ... it felt so satisfying to watch Dean say all of it all to Mary, so cathartic and such a relief for him ... and for Mary to hear those things that Dean had to do to survive and to protect Sam all this while, from all the things that had happened in their lives ... such a big moment ... which made me think that he might have glossed over those events when he mentioned (offscreen) them to Mary before ... Also, Dean blaming Mary for dying is what I think most young children felt when they lost their parents during their childhood, and as a consequence of that loss, they suffered in life. Yeah, I am aware that it is unreasonable and unfair because death is not something that we choose in life to do (it's not logical/rational thinking). So I give Dean a pass.

Speaking of Sam and Dean and Dean seeming closer to mary... I think its because Dean craves that parental guidance thay he missed out on, but sam never really did miss out because he always had Dean.
@rachell497310 ай бұрын
Yeah. Dean never really had parents (though at least he had Bobby but John kept him away from him for a long time) and Sam always had Dean being both brother/Parent.
@heatherqualy914310 ай бұрын
I get wanting Sam to get a good parent moment, but I think it had to be Dean. 1) Dean does have the stronger connection to Mary, and could really get to Mary 2) Sam is SO understanding and sympathetic about Mary’s situation, he wouldn’t have been firm enough. She needed a slap in the face, not a kind, gentle therapist, and 3) Jensen kills these kinds of scenes. Not knocking Jared, he has had a couple good moments like this, but Jensen? These types of scenes are when you look at him and say “Why isn’t he a bigger star?” He can out-act the biggest star on tv right now.
@hwangvely22316 ай бұрын
They don't even give jared these type of scenes to prove himself in the first place for me he's the best at these kind of scenes like the spn season 8 final and his speech to dean in s3 when dean wanted to kill vamp Gordon he's just the best but isn't giving the chance more

Your feelings about this episode and this lackluster season in general I'm pretty sure mirror what most of us felt about it watching it live. I don't know anyone who claims this season as a favorite, or even in their top 5.

I think that Sam should have been the one to kill Dr Hess from the British men of letters but Jody doing it is almost as good "almost." Damn did you see that shot to her head that "headshot" was awesome and epic.💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.

This season really failed Sam this could’ve been his perfect arc of him becoming a leader. But instead it has a good start and ending with that speech and him leading the charge with Deans vote of confidence but their was no build up or middle part of this arc so while the speech was good and Jared’s acting was stellar it feels hollow and like a last minute thing the writers put together

Sam should’ve been the one to kill Toni, Ketch or the head BMOL lady (does she even have a name) I mean what was the point of Ketch killing Eileen if Sam wasn’t going to kill him? And you know Toni deserved to die but would’ve been more satisfying by Sam’s hands
@BobMarley-mq9hh10 ай бұрын
that's what I'm saying bruh every time a human gets killed in this show it can NEVER be sam or dean 😒 "nooo not Sam or Dean they could never kill a human their too moralistic and perfect" is what I imagine the writers be saying.. and it be these mfs like ketch and hess that would be perfect for them since it is justified after everything they did to the brothers it's honestly hella annoying
@BobMarley-mq9hh10 ай бұрын
like ketch kills toni when it should've been dean then Mary kills ketch when it should've been dean and right when Sam gives the most perfect pre-kill line he turns and "kills" the computer instead? and Jody gets the headshot? terrible
@laf124110 ай бұрын
I've noticed that Sam never really gets any of the big kills, human or monster (at least, up until this point, which is all I can say to avoid spoilers). A couple of his biggest were Lilith, Ramiel, and the Alpha Vamp, but beyond that, it's usually Dean or someone else. I wish they'd given Sam some of the bigger ones, especially a certain one, but I guess the writers have to play into Sam being the hunter that empathizes with monsters while Dean's the badass, I suppose. I'd prefer to see more of badass Sam because he looks so good doing it!
@patrickmcguire789610 ай бұрын
@@laf1241 That's something I've noticed to. While I don't keep score with every kill I have noticed with reoccurring villains, those who show up in more than one episode are often killed by Dean, Cas or others. Aside from Alpha Vampire this season the last time Sam killed a reoccurring villain was Samuel Campbell and that was six seasons ago! But the deaths made sense because they build up a rivalry with Dean. Zachariah, Dick Roman, Cain all had great rivalry's with Dean or rather more screen time with him than Sam. Same goes for Ketch he had more screen time with Dean & Mary so it made sense for him to fight them and get killed by one of them and it was satisfying because it was build up. Remember Gordon Walker? Remember the multiple season rivalry between Sam? And of course Lucifer! But after that Sam really hasn't had much a personal history or rivalry with any of the villains. That's why I was so upset about Toni, this was the perfect chance to give Sam someone to hate and have him take down but they just wasted it.
