The ultimate swansong for one of the iconic ensembles of all time who made some of the greatest music ever and always did things their way. God bless PMG

Thank you for sharing this beautiful and phenomenally moving segment of The Way Up. It opens up a portal to heaven. The vocalese, the instruments…there are really no words, it builds to the crescendo then grabs your heart. I used to listen to The First Circle with Pedro Aznar on vocals, of course the late, great Mark Ledford and Lyle Mays ( RIP) on piano, then Another Life ,with Richard Bona on vocals ( Speaking of Now) over and over. Then The Way Up, Part 3, took me into the stratosphere. I am so thrilled to have experienced The PMG. One of a kind for the Ages! MBT 7/5/24

Amazing band. Just feel grateful that I was able to see Lyle Mays play live with the Pat Metheny band a couple of times. Such a beautiful and lyrical player and imho one of the greatest piano players. Lyle Mays era Pat metheny band was so special.

I couldn't agree more! I only wish I'd had the intense pleasure it would've been to see the PMG with Lyle. Living in Western Canada made that difficult to arrange at the time. Oh, to turn back the clock!

I was there somewhere in the middle of the 150,000 strong crowd......it was the 13th and final show of that tour I was fortunate to attend and witness PMG at its best performing the entire album live along with other classics. Hard to believe its almost been 20 years since that tour. I will forever be grateful that I had the chance to see once of the most amazing bands ever assembled perform their best recording (IMHO) as a swan song......

No, I don't know how music could possibly get any better than this. And it doesn't need to! I got to see this incarnation of the PMG at an unannounced gig at Johnson State College in Vermont, their final 'rehearsal' gig before taking TWU on tour and I sat ten feet from Lyle's piano. What a wonderful drug-

I was at the JSC show as well. I am a long-time, die hard PMG fan and I remember a friend saying "It's like having the Beatles come to town". We are all so lucky both for the fact that this group created so much original and beautfiful music but also that they toured so regularly to venues big and small. In VT alone I saw PMG @ JSC, the Flynn (3 or 4 times) and Sugarbush.

Thank you Antonio. You've had an astounding career to go along with your astounding ability. Not only were you involved in the creation of this epic masterpiece, you later on won an Academy award as a solo drummer, put out 2 great CD's under your own name, and was still Pat Metheny's drummer all in the same year. That's undeniably impressive.

Wings, tears of joy, you are brilliant, you all are, the summum of expression and legal drug for soul flight. Bless you for this musical gift.

The guitar solo in Part Three is one of the best sections in The Way Up imo, going from very complex to just looping four chords, very refreshing! Also could it be a nod to Dream of the Return with the order of guitar solo, piano solo and synth guitar solo? Respect to Antonio for picking up the bass in the end so that Steve can play the arco part!
