Presenter and content creator, Lucy Edwards, joins Tasha on the first episode of Superpowers! At age 17, Lucy lost her eyesight due to a rare genetic eye condition called Incontinentia Pigmenti, meaning that she had to learn how to navigate life again. For the last 10 years, Lucy has been documenting her life online, highlighting challenges, sharing tips and answering questions around being blind. In this episode, Lucy and Tasha talk about how they stay positive when they are feeling low, what their superpowers mean to them and becoming a content creator.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tasha Ghouri was watched daily by over three million people as part of the country’s most popular reality series - Love Island - and became a breakout star. But what sets Tasha apart is her superpower. Something which once made her feel like an outcast is now her greatest source of strength and community. Tasha’s superpower is her identity as a Deaf woman, but what’s yours? In this podcast Tasha invites special guests to celebrate the things that make us different.
Superpowers with Tasha is proudly sponsored by Cadbury's Fingers' 'Sign with Fingers Big and Small' campaign, in partnership with the National Deaf Children's Society.

you're such a great podcast host! allowed room for Lucy to talk and never interrupted/spoke over her at all (happens a lot in podcasts I listen to which really irks me) Lucy was so lovely, love her positivity and she's so inspiring ❤️ can't wait for the next episode and will absolutely keep watching/listening! you should be so proud of yourself with everything you've achieved - this podcast is such an amazing way to bridge the gap and help us all learn a little more about those with disabilities/superpowers and other communities too, who don't have enough representation ❤️ you're doing amazingly, and never let the haters/trolls bring you down 💞 edit to add - how cool that you're sponsored by Cadbury's! And in partnership with NDCS as well to help us learn a bit of BSL. Truly amazing 👏🏽

How wonderful to hear/watch 2 powerful resilient independent women speaking honestly and openly about the rollercoaster that is living with deafness/blindness. As a deaf person I also learnt from Lucy to be more descriptive of things to include blind people in experiences. I also loved Lucy’s description of what her superpower is. You are so right that actually being deaf/blind/disabled we have to learn more skills that non-disabled people would never even think about which truly shows our resilience. Can’t wait for the next episode xx

Beautiful interview. Thank you so much. Having a disability myself, to dig in and find the goodness and "superpower" is such a perspective-altering shift. We may not have the same things everyone else has, but that's what makes us grow into unique individuals.

This was so good Tasha! You kept a really good balance between keeping the focus on Lucy and letting her talk, whilst also sharing some of your own experiences. (My pet peeve is interviewers who talk over their guests.) Have subscribed and am looking forward to listening to more episodes.
