Thought I would be more into bass headsets, but after owning a few iems, I realized I prioritize vocals and instruments to sound as natural as possible in the mids, loving the studio4
@Thiccolo4 күн бұрын
I'm the exact opposite, I used to think I preferred details and vocals. But as my library is mostly hip hop and r&b, bass is where it's at baby

Well, basic the only difference between the 3.5mm and the 4.4mm it's that the 3.5mm have one R+ L+ and only one GND. 4.4mm have a R+ R-(GND) L+ L-(GND) and a Shield (GND), that said, it's only a dedicated GND for each side, isolating eachother and GND that works as a Shield to protec the cable from noise interference. The point of balanced is that it allows an independent amplification for each side, basically one AMP to both channels = less power, and one dedicated AMP for each channel = more power. That's why in dongles with 3.5mm and 4.4mm (Valid for any balanced connector) the balanced will aways have more power. So no, using this kind of adapter will not kill you precious audio transducers, hope my answer helped in something, and sorry if i wrote something wrong, english is not my first language.

I am not concerned about what it would do to the headphones, but what it would do to the source they're plugged into. You're connecting two negatives from separate sources together as far as I understand.

I just got a Mangird Tea Pro which seems to have similar bass to the Mega5Est and I think I have to agree with you on the Bass being a tiny bit too much on those IEMs (I can't believe they would make one with even more bass) . Its a lot of fun on some tracks and especially Live-Rock Music, but for Chill Music, RnB, Indie its a bit too much.. its like someone dialed up the Bass and Drums in the mix a bit too much. I still think its awesome for times when you want to "feel" the music and Rythm.
@sandydennylives139221 сағат бұрын
Far better than dialing up the fxxking treble leaving a thin non existent sound body and only good for the toilet; just like my waste of space S12 pro; rhymes with gooey poo.

I just got it as well. I was not very impressed, it felt like an EQ or impedance adaptor implementation over OG Mega5est then a new IEM.
@SuperReview6 күн бұрын
Ha, it does kinda feel like an impedance adapter mod.
@oioiiuh86 күн бұрын
hmm interesting, could you try an impedance adapter or eq settings to your megafest to turn them into megabass? I have been looking at megafests for quiet a bit, and might pull the trigger if they can be converted into megabass
@SuperReview6 күн бұрын
Sure, you could do this easily with EQ.

I get you when you say that this plug is weird, i for example tried a similar tss plug like that one to monitor sound of mics through my dslr a D750 and it didn't work, until i used plain 3.1 plug of another iem i was able to get sound out of it.

I'm thinking of upgrading my bass set. Was thinking about the hbb punch or the Theiaudio Origin. I know the Origin is a lot more expensive but they both are in that same category. I wonder what each does better than the other and if EQING the punch can get me within 95% of the Origin?

I'll reserve my impressions for when I actually get the opportunity to demo these, but considering that you were on the fence about the DaVinci for the same reasons, I'm not surprised that you felt the same over these 😅

I've done a 4.4 balanced to a 3.5 before... and it didn't work. So I'm really curious about this one. I tried 3 adapters out of curiosity and all I got was buzzing or high pitched screeching. Never any actual usable sound.

I've always preferred wide-bore tips since the beginning of time. What do you think of tip rolling bassy sets like these with wide-bore eartips?

I found out that I don't really like that much bass in my music so pretty much any IEM with a lot of bass just doesn't work for me. Slight bass boost is where it's at. More than that, it's just too much.

Sometimes it works for a different flavor. But generally I agree.

BASS, as a quantity, is small for a bass head. When I watched BASS+, I expected something more when compared to an IEM. They are not marketed as bass head components, and they are close. I realize that they are only limited editions and will not satisfy many bass lovers. There are better components in this regard.

Bass heads are never satisfied.

Single ended to balanced is mega cursed. I’m sure it’s totally safe and fine to use… but it’s just strange to me.
@SuperReview6 күн бұрын
I don't really understand how it works, usually there are two separate negatives inside the source, I assume they can't be merged in the cable without issues.
