Perfect Cell's Regeneration Explained | Dragon Ball Z Science

Always thought that Cell’s regeneration was a combination of Frieza’s durability and a Nameks regeneration to make it so unless you completely eradicate him he will return. While the Saiyan DNA makes it so he gets stronger after regenerating instead of weaker like Piccolo does after his regeneration. To make the ultimate regenerative ability that makes him almost indestructible, while his strength also increased after each regeneration.

in general Frieza passed down his hereditary conditioning, bc lets face it, he can really handle anything. But saiyan DNA aka utilizing Zenkai boosts, would only be in situations when he's near actual death. He basically laughed in Vegeta's face after his final flash even though it tore 1/4 of his body off and both cell and Goku were very calm about him regenerating after the instaneous kamehameha too

​@@kinganthony8964 cell gains a zenkai boost each time he heals from injury and is born with those hax. Buu has to absorb a saiyan to be able to get a zenkai boost.

From a biological standpoint, Cell should not be able to regenerate so quickly. Real life animals can regenerate lost limbs, even some can regenerate after being cut into many pieces (planaria for instance). But this takes time because the cells need building materials in order to replicate and build protein.

It's bullshit is what it is. Say what you want to about Buu but his regeneration is least not "allegedly" based on a character whose regeneration acted NOTHING like Cell's. Cell is based off Piccolo but fuck all Piccolo would not be able to regenerate to the degree Cell could. It doesn't even follow it's OWN rules, there is a reason Funimation changed how the mechanisms worked given Cell's "nucleus" is a bunch of plot convenient crap.

Found the video one year later to prove it wrong... anyways. When Cell gets it's upper torso blown he can regenerate himself. However when he blew himself up and came back he said there's a lump (pointing the head) that if survives he can come back. Said lump get's blown up after by Gohan. If the lump is in the head as he said, why he regenerated himself the first time? In the English dub they speak about regeneration from each cell, which made me doubt about an error in the translation. Till I saw said specific lump destroyed in the fight, meaning it's a core. if Cell could replicate from every... cell that means every time he missed a piece another Cell will appear. That's why this whole explanation is wrong.
