Minus B 12. Supplementation isn’t the devil
@ShoshiPlatypus4 жыл бұрын
Natalie Love I quite agree, with the exception of B12. Also, there’s a lot of bad weight loss and nutritional advice on this series. If you follow a whole-food plant-based diet, you can eat as much as you want and lose weight, and maintain a healthy weight. He keeps going on about how dairy is essential for bone health. This has been proved to be false. The evidence speaks for itself: the western nations which consume the most dairy have the highest incidence of osteoporosis. Dairy products are acidic and to compensate, the body draws calcium OUT of the bones, causing porosity. Cheese is very high in saturated fat and is highly addictive. You can get all the calcium you need from leafy green vegetables and a whole-food plant-based diet. The problem with concentrating on calorie intake all the time is that diets based on this always fail. It is not the quantity of calories which is crucial but the density of them. Eating whole-food plant-based means satiety from low calorie density. It also fosters a healthy gut microbiome which is crucial in combating obesity. I lost 4 1/2 stone on the 5:2 diet and was hungry 2 days a week. I abandoned this when I discovered the whole-food plant-based lifestyle and now eat as much as I want and am maintaining a healthy weight for my height. The food is also absolutely delicious and I have embarked on a whole new culinary adventure after nearly 50 years of conventional western-style cooking. This lifestyle has been proved not only to prevent, but to reverse common life-threatening western diseases such as type 2 diabetes and coronary artery disease. These facts should be much more widely known - the research from many years is freely available.

I felt really bad for Kim because they were kind of treating it like it's not normal to dislike meat, especially with the obnoxious condescension the narrator uses calling it a "flesh phobia". It's pretty reasonable to find overly processed meat suspicious and unappetising, they would have been better off prioritizing vegetarian proteins to supplement her diet with. A bit of cheese, beans, eggs, peanutbutter, or even hummus incorporated to or inbetween meals would go to great lengths to help her gain and retain her weight!

@@StrawberryMontage no, I live in the USA, but 2000 calories is way too much. Even if I tried, I'd never be able to eat like that and thank God because then I'd be fat. I never go over 1300 cals. I'm usually under that everyday. I'm 33 yrs old, 5'4 in height and I've been able to stay 105 lbs for years so i think I'm doing something right verses eating 2000 calories because someone says that's the "recommendation." So if I eat the same foods I always eat and my blood pressure is normal, but another day I eat the exact same thing and add a dill pickle, and my systolic BP is 15-20 mmHg higher, why is that according to you? Did the extra 7 calories from a pickle put me into metabolic syndrome? 😂😂😂 FYI, I do take my blood pressure daily. If I eat things like pickles or olives I have to be careful.
