I think it would be hard to have bulimics on a show like this, cus the fact here is about the meal swap, i mean, it would take for a bullimic to have an assistent attached to their side for a week, going with them everytime they are going to the bathroom etc on the show, someone to sit by them all night as well so that they don't go vomit. I think that would be hard to do on a show based on meal swaps.
@sethezrathegodofbread3 жыл бұрын
@@paigebrewer2990 well it's a much more noticeable thing like when you someone who has more weight on them with bulimia you don't see someone with that disorder you just see someone who over eats and it honestly sucks because eating disorders aren't just people with anorexia, and they can be bigger and it's just not represented enough which really isn't okay because it's giving off that you only have an eating disorder if you're skinny.

The quantities actually make a huge difference as to how you perceive food. I'll take my bf, intuitive eater, as an example. He loves good junk food (nice steakhouse burger, restaurant pizza, chips...). But if you serve this to him twice a day he'll just hate it and actually not eat it, eating super small portions compared to his usual ones. Yes all her food was fried as well but her body had no reason to send warning since she eats such smaller portions. It is ironic but fully understandable and logical.
@datatsushi20163 жыл бұрын
@@annabees God i love intuitive eating. When you allow yourself to eat whatever you want, whenever you want and how much you want, you don't constantly think about food and you also don't crave junk food because it's there if you want it. And you won't get fat, nor will you be too skinny. I recommend intuitive eating to everyone.
@annabees3 жыл бұрын
@@datatsushi2016 If you don't have any bias towards what's good for you and what isn't it is nice indeed. However, sadly, quite a lot of people have a distorded relationship with food, and first need to restore a healthy relationship before even thinking of intuitive eating. It's a hard job to do and not everyone has this mental space to do it ;) Some people are so deep in sugar consumption that they'd just overfuel on sugar to compensate for the others nutrients they don't get enough of. On the other side of the spectrum, some people need to fight restricting tendancies, which makes you think you are eating enough when you clearly aren't. For instance, I'm currently reverse dieting from restricting so I can then train my intuitive eating skills :)

not always a good couple of the people every season tend to eat healthily they just don't eat enough of it in their portions, which brings on the lack of minerals in their diet. The problem is that they still drink coffee, tea's and soda's which are brown. Bread's are usually brown as well, and anything that is in a red/brown sauce turns brown. Then you factor in that most if not all of them on either side tend to eat chocolate. Its gonna be brown. however its the point of the show their there to be shown what's wrong, and how they can fix it by swapping their diets and changing their eating habits, and add in those fruits and vegetables or add in more bread/meats into their diets to be healthy again and find their body image.

I’ve been underweight most of my life and this show really helps me regain focus on the importance of a balanced diet. For example a good day for me consists of: Vegan sausage English muffin with spinach and “cheese” fries with ketchup Protein shake Coffee Diet Coke Lentil lasagne with soy milk bechamel and steamed broccoli. 1 banana and some strawberries Cup herbal tea I always lose focus on my food during the day but always try to make up for it come dinner time when I watch an episode of ssvss ❤️

eating disorders are hard, also to get to the point to recognize tht you have one and to ask for help, thats brave. I think i watch this show to see how people deal with their eating disorders, and also to see that im not doing as bad as the people in this show... to show me that i shouldnt overeat nor undereat . For sure lot of people watch this show for some reason like that. Eating disorders are like obsessions.

I get the point of showing them how much they really eat but the food waste is intense
@julez46185 жыл бұрын
They way I understood it, is that they use expired food to make the meals. Wouldn't swear on it though, because I only read it in other comments. But it would make sense, because that way they get the food cheaper. Throwing away normal-prized groceries would "hurt the production's wallet" too, I guess.

@@SuzanneU Food should never be wasted. Most people consider it unethical because of all the time and resources that went into it in its long process of being produced. If you throw it away, you don't show it the respect it deserves. One should be thankful for food and never take it for granted.

Lorn Warbler if someone has type 2 diabetes, or pre-diabetes, then low carb is a great way to lose weight and put diabetes in remission. Eating carbs produces the highest insulin spike, while protein produces a moderate spike, and fat alone results in almost no spike in insulin. I'm not saying people should eat pure fat. But I am an advocate of a low carb, high fat diet for people with diabetes, because insulin is a fat storage hormone. So for someone who is morbidly obese, it is in their best interest to reduce their insulin spikes, which they can do more easily on a low carb diet.

Pâmela Fernandes Well yeah! Lol that’s a given. But the statement “1,500 calories is under eating” is categorically wrong. It’s just incorrect, period. If they wanted the statement to be accurate, they should have said “1,500 calories of JUNK FOOD is under eating” if that’s what they meant. It’s their responsibility as an *educational show* to not make false statements that may mislead people.
@katerynawarlock27775 жыл бұрын
@@abbeylinefortheexit8933 probably, they mean average. I agree with you though. Of course a short and a tall person need different amounts of calories and protein, carbs and fat (PCF) . For example, I don't care about calories, I only count my PCF. And I count it judging by my needs (whether I workout or not, I am active or not, etc). You might get enough calories, but almost all of them from only one of PCF and that's when health issues start.

1500 cals is how much I generally eat because I’m short and in school/doing hw all day, but for someone taller and/or more active, they could need at least 2000 cals. on my lightly more active days, I generally use 1800-1900 cals, so it’s not TOO much of a stretch tbh

The majority of people who are overweight simply have no idea how many calories the types of foods they are eating. I constantly shock my friends when I ask them how many calories they think XYZ is they guess 300-400 or maybe a big meal is 800 calories when in reality their little frozen pizza is like 2500-3000 with over 100% of your daily fat and that is just one meal out of several they will eat.
